Behold my pliosaur. Quite simple. Note that it's probably a bit stylized.

A lot of people hate on this series for lack of prehistoric fauna. I enjoyed (most of) it personally, but I can understand where the haters are coming from.
And this eyesore in "In Cold Blood" sums it up.
In my opinion, the worst scene is the Plesiosaur/Pterosaur/Turtle coasts from an unspecified time in the Mesozoic.
The unnamed Pterosaur, which has pointed wings and long hind limbs, is likely a Pterodactylus,
But, this gigantic unnamed pliosaur (referred to as a higher systematic group, Plesiosauria) appears to be a large Late Jurassic species. But it's quite odd these two are never identified.
It doesn't seem like the writers did any sort of research to find overlapping pterosaur and pliosaur species, or on these two species even. They just slapped them into a scene to check off boxes.
The turtles are also unnamed (shocker). Large sea turtles like Solnhofia lived in the Late Jurassic with Liopleurodon and Pliosaurus funkei, one of which must be the attacker here due to its size.
Basically, LooP vaguely states that marine reptiles and pterosaurs existed. It shows turtles hatching, pterosaurs eating them, and a pliosaur swimming around and eating them.
Scientific inaccuracy isn't this scene's biggest weak point, it's the mere presence of it. The lack of detail given on these two incredible groups just turns it into a bland and argueably unnecessary few minutes.
It's like last minute, they thought "Oh fiddlesticks, we forgot about the other Mesozoic reptiles. Eh, let's just throw 2 random ones in there real quick".

JOURNAL ENTRÉE: FIRE & SMOKE
I was walking through the jungle on a fine day, observing the strange plants.
Suddenly, there was smoke all around. What from?
It was like a Triassic archosaur predator, but firey and smoking!
I ran away, of course. As I ran, Hey-Laz Hey Suchus and O'Small Skina swarmed me. They fell victim to flame.
There was a lever. I decided to push it for some reason.
There was a beast like a pliosaur whirlwind! I feeeeelllllll.......
This is the good guy ^
(Nothing's changed, still works like last time)
ONGOING INCIDENT
"Taco Shop"
Creature: Varying Mesozoic Invertebrates, The taco shop
Type: Live Creatures cooked into food by Sicko's
Deaths: 7
Injuries: 82
Info: A small town in Massachusetts had the misfortune of being stuck in this incident when a management shift occurred. The previous owner was moving out and left it to a Friend and his family to take over. The first incident happened when a man ate and swallowed a Thylacocephalan cooked into a burrito that was still alive. He survived this ordeal by eating another "Burrito" that tasted just as bad and threw up, saving his life. It just picked up from their and it all culminated when a family of 7 ate SOMETHING and all died a few hours later. The FDA was called in to investigate but by then the Family had already got away. They still haven't been caught.
INCIDENTS OF THE DAY
Boat Party
Creature: Large Pliosaur
Type: Potentially Territorial Encounter
Deaths: 6
Injuries: 22
Info: Of the coast of France, a wealthy businessman threw a party on board his boat with his colleagues. All was well until they drove the boat into deeper waters. The panic started when something bumped the boat on the underside of the boat. Then the engine stopped working. The on-ship mechanic was called down to fix it. 30 minutes went by and eventually the businessman looked down into the water, only to see red. Then finally, they saw the silhouette of a Large Pliosaur right before it rammed hard into the boat, capsizing it. 2 people who couldn't swim (Including the businessman) Drowned, 1 was caught under the boat and drowned, and 2 were flung far from the boat and were killed by the Pliosaur. The coast guard eventually arrived and rescued the remaining survivors.
Gluttony
Creature: Large Mastodonsaurus
Type: Man-Eater
Deaths: 67
Injuries: Unknown, but Presumably over a hundred.
Info: Beelzebub the Mastodonsaurus was a 2 Ton Mastodonsaurus that terrorized Florida for 7 Months before being caught and killed. Its killstreak started slowly, until it seemingly started adapting to hunting humans, picking up the pace. It also seemed to frequently cannibalize other Mastodonsaurus. It's terror streak came to an end when a gator hunter spotted it when it got caught in a bait trap, recognized it, and shot it dead.
I just watched Sir David’s latest documentary and it was actually pretty good.
It’s basically about the excavation of the very well preserved Pliosaur skull and analyzation of its anatomical features.
Half the show is about how the skull was extracted from the middle of a crumbling cliff face in the Jurassic Coast of Dorset. It was extremely tedious work during which the skull could have been damaged or destroyed at any moment.
The rest of the show shows the study of the Pliosaur, how it may have swum, what it ate, how big it was, how effective its giant teeth were, etc. David Attenborough is 98 and still shows himself to be at the top of his game. He is extremely sharp for his age and shows immense fascination for prehistoric life as he always has.
At the end we are treated to a short hunting scene in which the Pliosaur hunts a pod of ichthyosaurs. VFX is actually quite good and definitely more appealing than Life On Our Planet.
Why don’t you go watch it right now if you haven’t already.

The article mainly focuses on aquatic animals, but also shows us what might have happened if azhdarchids and titanosaurs didn't go extinct. Enjoy.

Also, I noticed while creating tags for this post that we need a page for Azhdarchidae.

The two brothers: Iddit and Udos. A product of one of the chaos goddess Remphion's Many Many Many Many ManyX45 affairs with mortals. One was born a Shastasaur, the other a Mosasaur. They never got along from birth, but the true argument between them sprung up when they found a large Ruby with the sign of Xoxulla, the time goddess, on it. This, of course, was priceless. But then the argument reared its head, who would own the Ruby?
"I deserve the Ruby, I will keep it, this was obviously sent to me!" Iddit argued. "No, the gem belongs to me!" Udos argued back. Eventually, a fight broke out between the two, descending deep into the sea. They were getting close to killing eachother, when suddenly a Pliosaur, far larger than any they have ever seen, appeared in front of them. This beasts name was Zaros, and it was sent over from the red sea of Vramus itself by the brothers own mother to kill any children she had left in the sea.
A chase ensued between the brothers and Zaros. Eventually, the brothers found a cave to hide in. There, they thought up a plan to kill Zaros. The Ruby was big, and even though Zaros probably had a pretty big throat, he would still likely choke on the Ruby. And so, they fled out the cave, and dropped the ruby behind them, which Zaros swallowed. The brothers watched as Zaros struggled and squirmed, trying to get the Ruby out of his throat.
Until eventually, it stopped moving.
The two brothers parted ways after that, but it was better than killing each other over a gem.
