X is going to have a spectacular dinner today
A lot of people hate on this series for lack of prehistoric fauna. I enjoyed (most of) it personally, but I can understand where the haters are coming from.
And this eyesore in "In Cold Blood" sums it up.
In my opinion, the worst scene is the Plesiosaur/Pterosaur/Turtle coasts from an unspecified time in the Mesozoic.
The unnamed Pterosaur, which has pointed wings and long hind limbs, is likely a Pterodactylus,
But, this gigantic unnamed pliosaur (referred to as a higher systematic group, Plesiosauria) appears to be a large Late Jurassic species. But it's quite odd these two are never identified.
It doesn't seem like the writers did any sort of research to find overlapping pterosaur and pliosaur species, or on these two species even. They just slapped them into a scene to check off boxes.
The turtles are also unnamed (shocker). Large sea turtles like Solnhofia lived in the Late Jurassic with Liopleurodon and Pliosaurus funkei, one of which must be the attacker here due to its size.
Basically, LooP vaguely states that marine reptiles and pterosaurs existed. It shows turtles hatching, pterosaurs eating them, and a pliosaur swimming around and eating them.
Scientific inaccuracy isn't this scene's biggest weak point, it's the mere presence of it. The lack of detail given on these two incredible groups just turns it into a bland and argueably unnecessary few minutes.
It's like last minute, they thought "Oh fiddlesticks, we forgot about the other Mesozoic reptiles. Eh, let's just throw 2 random ones in there real quick".

85 Million years ago, in Alaska, this male tylosaurus wanders around this vast sea looking for something to hunt, in the distance he can see an adult plesiosaur, even though the plesiosaur is an adult, the tylosaurus is much larger, the tylosaurus sneaks up on him and when he is quite close to his prey, he swims at full speed and with its mouth open and bites the plesiosaur at full speed. Piercing the plesiosaur with its teeth and breaking some of its ribs on the spot, the tylosaur proceeds to violently shake its prey with its jaws, quickly killing it. The tylosaurus spends some time feeding on the plesiosaur and continues to wander the vast sea that covered part of North America. The male tylosaurus has picked up a scent that is quite new to him since he reached adulthood not long ago, it is the scent of a female, the tylosaurus knows that it is his chance to mate and leave his offspring, so he follows the smell. of the female while emitting a kind of low frequency clicks to call the female, after a few minutes of constant repetitions of clicks he receives a response from the female so he heads towards her, once they meet, the male begins They spin around and make clicking sounds to get the female's attention. Once the female shows interest, they will both spin around in something we could call a mating dance. After a few days of mating, the female will lay her eggs and the male will retire since the tylosaurus is a polygamous animal.

This plesiosaur named Coralliusaurus (meaning coral lizard) is an aquatic species that lives in shallow water. The feeler-like structures on its back and chin are colored to resemble coral, hence the name. These Plesiosaurs are seen when the main characters cross the sea to reach South America (which is where the portal volcano is)
This is a very large Plesiosaur, being a similar size to Thalassomedon.
I havent posted in five months, mostly because of my work, and for that, i'd like to actually contribute something to this website. I got inspiration from @Nonotbeast for this post. I'm going to format it like his TR incident posts, so credit goes to him for that. I'll list three things that have happened since I last posted in his "Incident" format.
Note: The events i'm about to describe arent apart of his series.
"Diving archangels"
Creatures: Different types of Azdarchids, such as Crydrakon, Quetzalcoatlus, Hatzegopteryx, Arambourgiania, and Thanatosdrakon.
Type: Attack on aircraft carrier Gerald R Ford
Deaths: Unknown, but at least over 1,000.
Injuries: Also unknown, but again, likely in the thousands.
News from the USA is very spotty, the USA has cut off all contact after an unknown group took over it's government. The group taking over the government caused a civil war between multible factions in the USA.
The United Nations established contact with a few of these factions, some of them decided to work with the UN, while some didnt. One of them that didnt work with the UN was the Alabama-Lousiana Commonwealth fighting against the Cheseapeake Federation, one that was working with the UN.
The United Nations couldnt spare any troops, we have, and still are, on an offensive against the dinosaurs/lights. The UN could supply the Cheseapeake Federation with weapons.
The Cheseapeake Federation had already taken over a few former US military instilations, namely Langley Airforce Base, and Norfolk Naval Base, giving it more air and naval power than a lot of it's neighbors. But, the Alabama-Lousiana commonwealth somehow got ahold of the USS Gerald R Ford, the largest, and most powerful aircraft carrier in the world.
The Alabama-Lousiana commonwealth used this aircraft carrier to launch F-18 fighter jets at the Chesapeake Federation, which was starting to take a major toll on the Chesapeake Federations military.
To fill the gaps that the attacks caused, somehow, the Cheseapeake Federation had managed to tame dinosaurs. It's unknown how they did it, as all attempts to tame them previously have failed.
The Chesapeake Federation realized that they had to sink the aircraft carrier, or it would do even more damage to what little military they had left, so they gathered what few aircraft squadrons they had left, and launched a suprise attack on the aircraft carrier while it was off the coast of Bermuda.
The aircraft in these squadrons were F-35's armed with anti ship missiles, and F-22's armed with air to air missiles. The F-22's would cover the F-35's while they attacked the aircraft carrier, These planes were also joined by the first Azdarchid Squadrons.
The Azdarchid squadrons were formed of tamed adzarchids, like Quetzalcoatlus, and Hatzegopteryx, as well as a few other species. People would litteraly ride on the backs of them, and the Azdarchids would carry small bombs, and drop them on the aircraft while they were still parked on the aircraft carriers flight deck.
If all went well, the Azdarchids would strike first, bombing the carriers flight deck with the bombs, and taking out a number of fighter jets. Then, the F-35's would hit the carrier with multible anti ship missiles, and if any of the carriers fighter jets managed to launch, the F-22's would take them down.
What im about to write is from one of the people that was on one of the Azdarchids, during the mission:
"We were at a very high altitude, above the clouds. I doubted the enemy could see us. Most of their radars probably were not functional. Even if they were, their radars wouldnt be able to see the fighter jets flying alongside us, and they wouldnt be concerned by a few pterosaurs either.
Then, our flight lead gave the signal. We dove, I felt the wind rush by my face, we must have looked like WW2 dive bombers. I could see that my Quetzalcoatlus, I named him Archie, by the way, was holding on to the two fifty pound bombs very tightly. I saw our flight lead give the signal to drop the bombs, and I tapped Archie twice which was the trick I trained him to do in order for him to drop the bombs. He dropped them, and hit two of the F-18's parked on the aircraft carriers flight deck. We had to be maybe 500 feet over the aircraft carrier when we did this.
Then, the aircraft carriers CIWS batteries started going off. They would have gone off sooner, but the crew was inexperienced, and it was a suprise attack. I witnessed one of my squad mates azdarchid get it's wing sliced off by one of the CIWS. He was riding on a Hatzegopteryx, and I witnessed as it let go of it's bombs after it was hit, it's bombs slammed into the flight deck, not really hitting anything in particular, and then it and it's rider fell into the ocean.
I quickly got Archie to fly away from the carrier, before we were killed by the CIWS. I wouldnt have to wait long to get to safety, though, as the F-35's accompanying us roared past us, and unleashed their anti ship missiles, which slammed into the ships hull. The CIWS started to try to shoot the F-35's down, as they were a much larger threat than the Azdarchids.
A few F-18's somehow managed to launch themselves off the carrier, and tried to intercept the F-35's. By now, the carrier was already doomed, and it would not have actually mattered if they shot down the F-35's, but they tried to do it anyway. But, before they did, I watched as the fighter ace Rugops one shot down the F-18's singlehandedly.
A few hours later, the Gerald R Ford sunk beneath the waves, a few of our ships moved in to save the sailors that were aboard the ship. Not many survived, though. Most were picked off by marine reptiles, like Plesiosaurs, or mosasaurs."
"Lights in the forest"
Creatures: Lighthounds
Type: Lighthounds attack my Leopard 2a4, as well as a few other tanks in Czechia.
Deaths: 4 tankers dead
Injuries: Tankers in a challenger 2 tank had their hearing damaged.
The United Nations has launched a counter offensive on the dinosaurs/lights. On the first day of this counter offensive, I remember seeing hundreds of Main Battle Tanks. The UN is working as one military force, not multible seperate countries working together, so theres multible different types of tanks working together. (which is an awful fucking descision, for multible reasons, I don't know who decided we should do that, but it does look cool when we all work together.)
Like I said, on the first day, I saw hundreds of main battle tanks, IFV's and other vehicles moving in a desert storm style mass offensive just east of Frankfurt. I saw British Challenger Twos and FV105 Warriors, Italian Arietes and Dardos, French Leclercs, Polish M1A1 Abrams, Swedish Stridsvagn 122, tons of different countries were using Leopard 2a4's, Leopard 2a5's Leopard 2a6's, and even some russian tanks that were from post soviet states, and russian tank crews that had joined the UN after the russians started attacking their own civilians.
Anyways, this shows how many countries we were working with. The tank company im in contains tank crews from Germany (Where I come from) Poland, Sweden, and Czechia.
Anyways, the offensive started out with sucess, we managed to take back most of East Germany, and move into western poland, as well as take back all of Western Czechia, and Austria.
In this particular incident, that I was a part of, we were just north of the Slovakian city of Bratislava. Our tank company hadnt seen much action yet, the only thing we had done after the merging of the UN's militaries was attack a bunch of spinosaurs that were next to a river.
It was night time, and we were moving through a field, next to a wooded area. I am a crewmember of a Leopard 2a4, which a german tank. I was with a Challenger two, and two other Leopard 2a4's. We werent expecting to see anything, but one of the other german tanks commanders reported seeing something in the trees. I aimed my tanks gun in the direction they reported seeing it in, and I turned on the tanks thermals. Sure enough, something was there. I couldnt tell what it was.
I told my tanks commander about it, and he radioed to the other tanks that there was something in the trees. We turned our tanks turrets towards the trees, and tried to identify what it was. Our commander opened up their hatch, and looked outside. They said they saw a blue light coming from it, so we fired a few warning shots from our machine gun. Whatever it was started moving towards us, and that's when we realized that there was multible of them. One of them exited the treeline, which revealed that it was indeed a light hound.
The challenger 2 was the quickest to fire, it shot a sabot round. If you don't know what that is, a sabot is effectivley a depleted uranium or tungsten dart that is designed to penetrate as much armor as possible, while creating shrapnel inside the vehicle that it's shooting at. The sabot round tore through the light hounds neck, completely decapitating it. A few other light hounds exited the treeline, which we started shooting at.
The lighthounds were closing the distance between us very quickly, I managed to kill one of them, but then I witnessed one leap on top of the Leopard 2a4 next to us, and it started fucking clawing into it's top armor. The Leopard 2a4 has weak armor on it's roof, so it was easily able to get into the tank, and tore into it's crew. I turned our turret towards the light hound on top of the tank, and shot it with a HEAT round (HEAT stands for high explosive anti tank). This killed the lighthound, but when I turned the turret back around, there was two lighthounds surrounding the British Challenger 2.
I started firing the machine gun at them, while our tanks loader loaded a DM23 sabot round. (The best type of sabot round a leopard 2a4 can fire.) The other Leopard 2a4 rammed one of the lighthounds, while the Challenger 2 desperatley fought off the other lighthound, The other Leopard 2a4 managed to bring the other one down, but the Challenger 2's tracks were destroyed. The Challenger 2's armor was thicker, so the lighthound couldnt just tear through it's armor, so it just started pounding on it's roof armor with it's claws. This probably caused extremely loud noises within the challenger, which caused the crew of the tank to get bad hearing damage. It wasnt that bad, though. Our loader successfully loaded the DM23 round, and we blew that lightound off the tank.
We managed to take back Bratislava the following day, and the counteroffensive is still going suprisingly well.

Three adventures, misplaced in time. They each find themselves in a land 66 million years before Christ. This is a time where nature's show was at its greatest, with some of the most awe-inspiring animals ever to walk, swim, or fly across the Earth.
But this raises the question. Can they survive the past, and make history like never before? Or will they perish in a dominion teeming with unknown dangers?
Each survivor has there own, very different, goals. Some seek knowledge, others trophies, and others only wish to survive the wilderness.
The dangers they face include the legendary dinosaurs, some of the mightiest animals ever to grace our planet. Coming in every shape in size, they too face the struggle to survive much like our adventurers. The dinosaurs we know today are wonders, but it is the wonders of this age who broke the records.
Alongside the dinosaurs of this world, other miracles of nature thrive. Bizarre reptiles swim through the ocean depths. Some are vicious killers, while others are great, docile beasts. And soaring above this planet are the great pterosaurs. These creatures too come in numerous shapes and sizes, with some growing to the largest airborne sizes ever and others remaining small and beautiful.
But it is not only the life on our planet who put our adventurers in danger. Much like today, parasites and diseases wreck havoc on the world. And these small killers from ancient days are unfamiliar to these Holocene pioneers...
In this story, you choose your own adventure. What paths will the adventurer take? What paths will lead to peril, and what paths will lead to success? It's time for you to discover the answers. Can you Survive the Planet?
Who's path will we follow now?
A. Roland Tembo is an experienced hunter leading a party of helpers. He intends to collect some satisfactory trophies on his mission through time. He will to cause the least damage he can to the foreign ecosystem.
B. Nigel Marven is a zoologist and wildlife adventurer who brings some crew on a trip back in time. He plans to study and interact with this ancient life and advance their understanding of the prehistoric planet.
C. Mei Yin is a warrior who hails from Ancient China. After her adventurers on the ARKs, she finds herself far in the past due to strange circumstances. Her only goal is to survive this strange land and find her way home.
Note from the author. Some of the animals in StP (Survive the Planet) may be exaggerated and dramatized at times. They may be made to be more dangerous and vicious than what they would realistically be like. This is only for story purposes, and I will try to keep things accurate as much as possible (other than of course the time traveling, etc).

The article mainly focuses on aquatic animals, but also shows us what might have happened if azhdarchids and titanosaurs didn't go extinct. Enjoy.

Also, I noticed while creating tags for this post that we need a page for Azhdarchidae.

So, we all know about Rate This Animal in rating who inaccurate the animal is. So why not do the same but also with my inaccuracies with the creature.
(Btw this art is by FreddyFan95)
First inaccuracy is that its head looks more like that of a T. rex than the real thing which had a more slim and almost-crocodilian head, not this T. rex-like head. Using Dolichorhynchops as a reference for the body, the neck is way too short, and looks more like a pliosauroid than a plesiosauroid especially a polycotylid of which Plesiopleurodon is in. The tail is bit too fat and long in my opinion, all I mean by all Polycotylids has short tails if not even slim tails. Also the problem with its color is that it looks a bit too vibrant, and knowing that it is a 23 foot (7 meter) 2 ton predator I highly doubt such colors will aid it in hunting, and prey would most likely spot it, I mean yes there is a picture of a Pistosaurus that is green in my Mesozoic Sea Reptile book, but Pistosaurus is more basal than Plesiopleurodon, and is much smaller than it as well. I mean like 220 pounds smaller, and it also appeared in the Triassic not the Cretaceous like Plesiopleurodon.
But another problem with it is its name nothing with its genus and species name but there is a sight problem with its species name as the first letter of its species name is capitalized which you should never do you should always make the species name in all lowercase like example: Homo sapiens or Felis catus, see how the starting S and C in those species names aren't capitalized, then look at this https://www.deviantart.com/freddyfan95/art/Plesiopleurodon-Wellesi-917497180 you should NEVER capitalize a species name, and here's a bad example of it: Homo Sapiens see how the first S in "sapiens" is capitalized well you should never do this, it just makes it look like you're saying yet another genus a subgenus if you mind.
What are your inaccuracies in the comments @HogBurger @Ankysareawesome @ScaryLookinHobo @HerbivoreEnthusiastAlt @SiatsPyro07 @EpicThoradolosaur7782 @BigDumFish99
