What do you think?
Finally! After a little over a week of drawing and two weeks of planning, I have finished my Citipati sketch! Technically I worked on it for five days, but not in a row, but that doesn't change much.
Yes this is the Citipati I said I was going to do before my drawing poll species, but now that this guy's done I can continue those.
Usually I suck a oviraptorids because of the shape of their heads but I really wanted to do this guy (its my favorite oviraptorid). I had some design inspiration and color inspiration (for the latter, both a photo and considering its discovery location).
Well that's enough rambling, here's the sketches!
No color
Color
And they're sideways as I predicted. Anyway, hope you like it! I actually hadn't drawn Citipati (or any relative for that matter) in four years, and I see this as a huge upgrade from my original attempt.
Ignore the little red dots and blue cubes, that’s just animation rigging it won’t show up ingame

GIGANTORAPTOR
Description: Gigantoraptor is a large oviraptorid from the Iren Dabasu formation in Mongolia. It weighed 2 tons and was 26ft in length. Here's the size for yall:
Extra info: Gigantoraptor, like all oviraptorids, is an omnivore that while comfortable eating plant matter is still known to eat small animals and scavenge corpses. They are known to create small burrows in which they nest and use to avoid predators, though these burrows are usually quite small. They are quite aggressive, but usually just have geese mentality and try to scare threats off instead off attacking them, which can create for quite the scare on van tours of the Mongolian exhibit when a Gigantoraptor pulls a mock charge on the tour van while unleashing an even more geese-like screeching.
BEIBEILONG
Description: Beibeilong is a large oviraptorid from the Gaogou Formation from China. It reached 25ft long and weighed 1.2 tons. Here's ya size comparison:
Extra info: Beibeilong is basically everything Gigantoraptor is with a few small differences. Instead of being aggressive, the Beibeilong is quite a shy and skittish creature that usually runs from danger instead of confronting it. Instead of living a solitary lifestyle, Beibeilong lives in large family groups with a meerkat like society led by a dominate pair of mates. The group's members all stand lookout for predators and threats to young. When threats to young are spotted, the adults will rundown the threat and usually kill it. When a predator is spotted, the adults will run back into the complex burrow in which the family resides. The burrowing instinct of Beibeilong is much strong than the one of Gigantoraptor and, with the help of the family, can dig colossal complex burrows in which 4 types of rooms reside, one where young are kept, another where food is stored, another where a majority of the family sleeps, and finally one were the head mating pair sleep. This burrowing caused issues once when 3 Beibeilong burrowed directly under the enclosure walls. Once out, they saw human beings they were unfamiliar with outside a van for the first time and panicked, with one Beibeilong kicking a man straight in the stomach (The man was rushed to the hospital and thankfully survived). The Beibeilong escaped through the park's main entrance, they were successfully able to run a good distance from the park before making the horrible mistake of running into an open parking lot, perfect for Recontainment forces to tranquilize the creatures from a helicopter. After this incident, the walls around the Mongolia enclosure were made much deeper to keep the Beibeilong from burrowing underneath ever again.
UPDATE ON SILLO AND SALTRIO INCIDENT
Recontainment forces have successfully Rallied local professional hunter's and trapper's to assist in the Recontainment of the Sillo's and the Saltrio, wish them good luck.
(Teaser: The Sillo's are the bait)
Decided to do another Q&A due to the fact that I'm going to create a duel creature profile on Gigantoraptor and Beibeilong. So you know the drill, just ask a question that's on topic and I'll probably respond. I'll also happily respond to any writing requests if you were wondering. (:
The theory I'm talking about involves Dromaeosaurids, Oviraptorosaurs, and maybe Therizinosaurs, Ornithomimosaurs, Pterosaurs, and Troodontids having the behaviour similar to that of the Black eagle and Shoebill stork.
Now, to those who don't know what the Black eagle is, the Black eagle (Ictinaetus malaiensis) is a bird of prey. The birds of prey of course consisted of hawks, eagles, falcons, vultures, and owls. The Black eagle is known for letting their children kill each other, which is similar to the Shoebill stork (although, I got that info from Casual Geographic and Be Amazed so I might have gotten and explained that terribly, so if I got that wrong, be sure to correct me). So the theory is, what if Dromaeosaurids, Troodontids, Oviraptorosaurs, Therizinosaurs, Ornithomimosaurs, and Pterosaurs did something similar to that of Shoebills or Black eagles?
Let's take Acheroraptor for example. An Acheroraptor mother is at the nest and it sees 2 of its children fighting each other, it of course watches and let's the stronger sibling kills the weaker one. Or, the Acheroraptor mother is away from the nest and then, while the mother is away, the older/stronger sibling attacks and hurts the younger/weaker sibling, and then, later on, the younger and weaker sibling dies due to its injuries it sustained from the older and stronger sibling.
Because the Dromaeosaurids were likely similar to that of birds of prey, this made me think, what if Dromaeosaurids were similar to that of the Black eagles or Shoebill storks? Think about that for a moment, Dromaeosaurids were similar to that of birds of prey so, if they were similar to that of birds of prey, they probably could have had a similar behaviour to that of the Black eagle, or, though not a bird of prey, the Shoebill storks. Of course, this is just a theory, a paleo theory.
