The newest paper just went in favor of the theory that Miragaia as a junior synonym of Dacentrurus, which has been going on for years , along with classifying Alcovasaurus as a separate genus. It does not fully end the debate

Appearance:

Yura is a tall young woman, she has long hair that goes down to her waist but is usually hidden behind her dress, she has long bangs that reach down to her shoulders, and a condescending look. She wears a dress that is similar in appearance to a kimono but has a slit on the bottom. She can often be seen wearing heels and her main weapon of choice are her sai blades.

Colors:

Yura's hair is black. Her eyes are red, her dress is a snow white color, she has bright skin that almost looks pale, and her dress has red accents and the inner part of her dress is also the same. Her heels are colored black, the hilt of her blades are colored red and the blades themselves are silver but the base of the hilts are colored gold. Her ribbon is red.

Personality & History:

Yura was born to a respected family as she was the princess of the Lunar Tribe. Just Yura's name alone commanded respect, and because of that, she had little issues when it came to maturing.

As a young girl, one of her goals in life was to become the queen of the tribe. And at some point it would probably happen, but she didn't want it to happen when she got married. She wanted to be crowned queen and potentially marry someone after becoming queen. The reason why is because she believed that her people shouldn't be too trusting of the opposing Flare Tribe.

Back in the 1800s there were two groups of people that arrived on the island, those people would eventually gives rise to both tribes but they wanted to go their separate ways after some desputes over territory. In Yura's mind, they should take a more aggressive approach when it came to these sorts of people which is why if and when she became queen, she'll offer the Flare Tribe a chance to join their kingdom and give their territory to them If they don't, they'll be wiped from Sauria Island's history.

This mindset mainly came from her uncle, Hiro, teaching her this from a young age. And Yura just took it as fact since she didn't know any better. She was of course, only a child.

However, all of Yura's ambitions would be put on hold, or be ruined entirely when she was six years old. Because by then, she would have a little brother in the form of Tsukasa. The reason why is because if the boy were to grow to the age of 21, he wouldn't have to marry to become king. Which would mean that Yura's goal of becoming queen wouldn't be possible unless she marries another royal. And the only other royals existed in the Flare Tribe.

She wouldn't make it obvious to her parents because she didn't want them to catch on, but she didn't just dislike her brother, she hated him.

Not only does his birth mean she would never become the queen of the Lunar Tribe, but there was another reason as to why she hated her own flesh and blood. He was in love with the Flare Tribe's princess, Fla Alinta. If those two were allowed to get married, that would mean that the Lunar and Flare Tribes would form an alliance and would share territory with each other. Which is something Yura despised.

They could've done that years ago. But the Flare Tribe did not agree with their terms and split off, they chose to rebel against them. Why do they of all people deserve respect?

She also hated how Tsukasa seemed to be her parents' favorite. They say they love her, but she never believed they did because they spent so much time with him. When in reality they did love her just as much as her brother, the problem was that she was way too distant all the time. Due to her antisocial nature, she didn't bond with them too much.

Even when her brother tried to spend time with her, she saw it as him trying to mock her in some way. When in reality, all the boy wants is a sister. Someone to lean on when things went wrong. Someone who would still be there for him when their parents were gone. He didn't have any malicious intentions, he loved his sister as much as his parents loved him. She just couldn't see that through her hatred.

While she does have a partner in the form of Hamma the Miragaia, she doesn't spend too much time with her either. Most of her time is spent training her partner's fighting moves. Because of this, Hamma didn't develop too much of a bond with her even if she was her rider.

At the age of 21, she was beginning to get fed up with her brother. Not only was he starting to develop a relationship with Fla who she saw as an enemy, he kept on pestering her about bonding. In her eyes, he only did this to bug her. Why else would he keep on asking her to spend time with him when she's always said no unless her parents asked her to? But it was the same as it usually was, she misunderstood things.

Tsukasa himself was getting tired, he's wanted to know his sister for years yet she almost feels like a stranger to him. It's why he keeps pushing, he wants to bond with her, he wants to help her with whatever she was dealing with. But alas, Yura's hate kept consuming her. On one occasion, out of desperation, Tsukasa asked what she really wanted and he said that if she told her, he'd give it to her. She answered with his future crown.

Tsukasa didn't believe what he heard. That's why she hasn't been in his life? He thought it was ridiculous and left even more confused than before. After that, Yura would finally get an idea. One that will both make her brother and the Flare Tribe fall.

She and her uncle devised a plan to frame Fla. Their plan involved kidnapping Tsukasa and taking him to a secret dungeon. Once that was done, they'd sneak into the Flare Tribe's location on Mount Phoenix to steal Fla's arrows. They then placed multiple arrows in his room and made sure to damage the room as much as possible to make it look convincing. They even went as far as putting the blood of a recently deceased guard in order to make it look like Tsukasa was hit by the arrows.

Because of this, her parents were enraged and waged a war against the Flare Tribe that would last for three years. Yura was more than satisfied with the result. Not only would she become queen, they will finally get rid of their biggest enemies. What both tribes didn't know was that Tsukasa was never touched by the arrows.

Yura kept him alive, but only because she wanted him to see the chaos that would unfold. She even planned out a way to drag Fla here so that she could kill her in front of him.

This of course broke the boy's heart. He truly did love his sister but now he wasn't even sure if who he's been living with was a sister. A sister is soneone who's supposed to love her siblings isn't she? Yura has never shown him any sisterly love and it's why he started to lose faith in her.

When word got out that the Flare Tribe allied themselves with outsiders known as the Fossil Riders, an attack was executed on Mount Phoenix. During this attack, Yura took down a good lot of the Flare Tribe warriors.

Everything was going exactly as planned, but the one thing she didn't account for was that one of the outsiders found out about what she had done to her brother.

April Aragon who was the leader of the Fossil Riders managed to locate Tsukasa after sneaking into the dungeon he was inside of. When she freed him, both of them rushed to Mount Phoenix to stop the attack.

When April confronted Yura, the princess didn't think twice before trying to slice the girl's head off. The two engaged each other in a one on one fight. April was getting overwhelmed due to how aggressive Yura was. It was clear to April that she wasn't in this just to win. If she was, she wouldn't be so eager to thrust her blades towards April's eyes.

While April was busy fighting Yura, Frost fought against Hamma.

April did manage to beat her however, when Yura's blades were clashing with April's spear, she twisted her weapon and knocked Yura's blades off her hands. After that, the princess was exposed, her parents were for lack of a better word, furious and saddened by this because all Tsukasa wanted was his sister's love. And he never got it.

She was going to be executed, but Tsukasa stopped it. Despite all she's done, she was still his sister and he still loved her to some degree. So instead, she was exiled from the Lunar Tribe.

Three years past, Yura had to build a small home of her own in the woods because she no longer lived in a castle and she loathed it. She cursed her brother for months, thinking that this was his own way of punishing her. But he did it so that maybe Yura can learn to appreciate life as it is and so that she can become closer to nature like he was. He also didn't want her to rot in a cell because it would kill him if he saw her like that. The same wasn't spared for their uncle though, who was blamed for how Yura turned out. He was locked in the same exact dungeon Tsukasa was. The boy's father was especially angry considering that his daughter could've been a better sister if it weren't for him manipulating her at a young age.

However, Yura's antagonistic deeds weren't done yet. While she hated to do it, she allied herself with outsiders from the mainland in the form of Dunamis Incorporated.

Since their new CEO, Gustin Shaw was after April because she killed his father, Yura joined him if it meant that she would get her revenge. But she told him not to kill any of her people. What's the point of being queen if all your subjects are dead? And she told him that she wanted to deal with her brother personally.

Mount Phoenix was attacked again, this time they had a bigger advantage because the animals of Dunamis Incorporated were trained specifically to kill as many people as they could. During this time, Yura didn't engage in the fight too much. Because this attack was all a ploy to lure out the Flare Tribe's prized dinosaur, Solaire the Tyrannosaurus. They managed to draw him out by hurting his son, unfortunately, he was far more dangerous than they thought because despite his slow speed, he tore through the Dunamis mercenaries like a knife through butter.

The battle ended with the newly formed Eclipse Tribe and the Fossil Riders escaping, but not without heavy losses. Later on, they stormed a Dunamis Incorporated facility located on one of the Island's beaches. This is where Tsukasa would try to convince his sister one last time to stop what she was doing.

While the battle raged on, Tsukasa finally came face to face with his big sister for the first time in three years. He tried to speak to her in a civil manner, and she was actually cooperating this time. Or so he thought.

She quickly drew her blades out and challenged him to a fight. As much as he didn't want to, Tsukasa pulled out his katana and accepted the challenge. The two of them fought wildly as Solaire was targeting the dinosaur who injured his son.

Tsukasa had a hard time fighting back because he didn't want to hurt her. But it was doing him no favors because he had to back away constantly. Eventually, it got to the point where he couldn't take it anymore, and switched to a more aggressive fighting style. He swung his sword everywhere, and during the last segment of the fight, managed to slash Yura's left hand which made her stagger back. He then used his katana and drove it straight through a part of her dress and pinned her to a wall.

While she was incapacitated, Tsukasa took this time to vent out all the pent up anger he's been suppressing for years. Berating Yura about how he only wanted to be her brother and that he never wanted to insult or mock her. He was so frustrated that he screamed at her as hard as he could because the only way he could convince her that he was being sincere was to unleash his frustration onto her.

When his rant was done, Tsukasa broke down crying. He didn't want to say any of that but he had no choice. It was then that Yura finally understood where she went wrong. She's never truly had a goal of her own, everything she's wanted stems from what her uncle taught her.

As Tsukasa broke down, Yura removed the katana that was pinning her to the wall. She knew he didn't want to kill her because if he did, he wouldn't have aimed to pin her dress, he would have at the very least pierced her neck by now. But when he used his katana to hold her in place, he made sure not to scratch her. The only time she bled was when he lost control of himself and resorted to anger.

Yura then knelt down, and for the first time in her life, showed her brother love as she embraced him. She let him cry into her arms and comforted him. She knew she couldn't change what she's done, but she'll do anything she can to atone for it.

The former princess was then captured and put in a cell against Tsukasa's wishes. But this actually gave her more time to reflect on what she's done. She was lucky she didn't go even more insane due to the isolation.

Ten years later, Yura was let out from her cell but she would quit royalty all together. She was no longer a princess and was little more than a citizen in the Eclipse Tribe. She would then devote the rest of her life to bonding with her brother. She didn't even care if she was an adult, all she wanted was to show her brother the sisterly love he's wanted ever since he was born. She would also begin to bond with Tsukasa's children, while the kids knew about their aunt's troubled past, they didn't mind spending time with her. She also took better care of Hamma from then on.

Trivia:

• Yura and Tsukasa are an example of Nature Vs. Nurture. Tsukasa is by nature a good person and strives to do good for people outside his kingdom. While Yura was nurtured to become a monster by her uncle.

• Their relationship is similar to Prince Zuko and Princess Azula from Avatar The Last Airbender. Both are of royal blood, both are siblings, and both are rivals. But the main difference is that Tsukasa never hated his sister and that she learned to love him as her brother eventually. While Azula still wanted to torment her brother even after their Agni Kai duel.

• Originally, she was supposed to have a staff that opened up in the middle to reveal a dagger attached to it. But the weapon was too similar to April's spear so I changed it to her sai blades.

• Her fighting style is meant to overwhelm opponents with fast movements and constant barrages. It's why she's able to dominate in battle so easily.

• Originally, she looked a lot more like April. Mainly due to her hair being similar so I changed it later on.

• There were multiple men that tried to marry Yura. But she rejected their advances because they weren't of royalty.

• The reason why her dress is colored white is because in the west, white represents purity and hope. While in some eastern cultures, it usually represents death and with her dress and blades having red accents, it only emphasizes her antagonistic personality.

• She and her father are the only humans in the series who have red eyes.

• Yura herself was the one who designed her dress. She wanted it to look proper and elegant, but she also didn't want it to get in way when she was fighting, which is why the slit was there.

• While most people just refer to her as Yura, her full name is Princess Yura II since she was named after her grandmother.

• Despite being a very negative person, in her free time she liked to make art. Although, most of it consisted of what she thought she would look like as queen. After she was released, she started to sketch art of landscapes.

• Even though she's antagonistic, she's the most sane out of all the human antagonists. I'm mostly referring to how she acts because despite being in the wilderness for three years, she still keeps her composure when talking to someone. Unless it's someone she dislikes.

• If her plan was successful, she would've killed Gustin right afterwards because she didn't trust him. He too was an outsider like April, Koba, and Tobias so she thought she would get nothing good if she kept him alive.

• Although she has a ferocity that is similar to some of the Island's Utahraptors, Yura prefers a vegetarian diet.

• While she was in her cell, her brother would visit her constantly to bond with her and she enjoyed his company since she was no longer blinded by her hate.

• As of right now, she is not married. But she doesn't mind as long as she gets to be with her family.

• If she was part of the Fossil Riders, she'd be the second eldest next to Krate Strom.

• She's the only one of her family who finds it odd that they have to worship a Giganotosaurus who in her eyes is just a giant brute of a lizard. Despite this, Calistus is more intelligent than most people would assume.

• After her release, she started to treat Fla with more respect and did anything she could to pay for what she's done. Another reason as to why she was nicer to Fla is that she was now Yura's sister in-law and her brother's wife.

• She actually wanted a mammal as her partner, but she was instead given a dinosaur.

• In some languages, Yura's name means "Good" or "Excellent" which is exactly why I chose the name for her. It's meant to be ironic since it's a positive sounding name attached to a not so positive person. Although she does start to live up to her name later on in life.
