Man, time has flown by. I just wanted to just mention this, even though it’s not a great documentary and it may have traumatised me, but it’s still a pretty good dinosaur documentary. And Morgan freeman, who was the best part of this, and also how he says: ligma, balls (just kidding). So happy anniversary LOOP

Made this quite a while ago during a glass painting class/activity. Still gotta fix some details like the backgrounds and whatnot but its still pretty good. Say what you will about LOOP but we got some really good animal shots, the gorgonopsid's intro being one of them.

So I just found out this video exists: an interview of the filmmakers of Life On Our Planet, released a month ago (so by this time, the show has been around for 8 months).

In the interview, the filmmakers state that they believe their science is great (which as most of you know, is false) due to the 200 paleontologists involved in the show.
At about 1:19, one of the filmmakers mentions the paleontologists changing the number of toes for an animal, basically questioning and mocking the science guys who were involved. This is pretty unprofessional and goes to show how unserious they were about scientific accuracy.
They also said they wanted the animals to look “cool”, which is probably where the modifying of animal designs to make them look more appealing came from. Even though as Prehistoric Planet has shown, accurate reconstructions are naturally cool.
Near the end, they talk a little bit about the second season of LOOP, and say that they are going to have “even more fun” with it. Needless to say, LOOP 2 will probably be as mid as the first season.
Basically, rank the prehistoric animals of Life On Our Planet on how good you thought they were. Can be graded on design or depiction or how much you like them, etc.

Oh yeah, and Surviving Earth will feature around 80 prehistoric animals.
This is twice as much as LOOP and about 62% as much as the entire Walking With franchise (which had about 129 animals the last time I checked). Sadly, the Cambrian might be skipped. The series has a main focus on cataclysmic events in prehistory, so I guess it makes sense for it to begin in the Ordovician.
