I have been fascinated by dinosaurs since 2016, and naturally I have been drawing them for a similar amount of time. Recently, I uncovered a bunch of old dinosaur drawings I did when I was 8, and I decided to redraw the dinosaurs, showing how my art style has changed from the ages of 8, 12 and 15.
Anyways, enough exposition. Here’s the drawings:
Pteranodon
Yes, I know it isn’t a dinosaur, but still. Pterosaurs are some of my favourite things to draw, so naturally they have changed overtime.
2018
This drawing is certainly far from accurate (as you will see with my other 2018 drawings). The pterosaur, while cute, is very disproportionate, with stick-like legs, an inaccurate skull and sometimes the crest is even drawn separate from the body (something you will see more and more with these drawings). The colours I used in the 2018 drawing was blue or grey, depending on the image. Also, this Pteranodon lacks fingers on its wing or a tail.
2022
A reoccurring theme you will see with the 2021/2022 depictions are that they are heavily based off the Jurassic World versions of the species, if present. While this Pteranodon is better proportioned, it lacks pycnofibres. Also, I couldn’t draw a pterosaur walking on all fours at the time, so I only ever drew Pteranodon flying.
2025
This is probably my most accurate depiction, possessing the Pycnofibres. The way the wings fold when walking is based off how they depict it in Prehistoric Planet. In fact, you may also notice that while drawing this, I had the Tethydraco from the show in my head. I gave it a curved beak similar to Tethydraco/Pteranodon sternbergi because I initially planned to represent it as the latter.
Carnotaurus
Well, Carnotaurus has certainly evolved over time…
2018
Remember what I said about drawing the crest separate with Pteranodon? Here you can see an example of that; all the body parts, even the upper and lower jaws, are separate shapes. The hands have three fingers, and are sticks. It is also, for some reason, standing far more upright than Carnotaurus would in reality.
2022
Again, the Jurassic World influence is ever present here. This Carnotaurus is massively better than its predecessor, but there are a few errors; the skull is too Tyrannosaur-like, and this Carnotaur has downwards-facing wrists (IDK how that would even be possible with their near-lack of arms)
2025
A few smaller changes here, nothing as drastic as with the Pteranodon. Arms are more accurate, and have the correct number of fingers. The 2025 Carnotaurus also has lips and osteoderms.
Ankylosaurus
Ankylosaurus is a dinosaur that I nailed pretty early on. But before I nailed it, Jesus!
2018
Like the Carnotaurus, I drew the body parts of the Ankylosaurus separate. The skull was also just a circle, with a beak also separated. The armour had no spikes and I also gave it a really vibrant colour scheme.
2022-2024
After that ‘creature’, I got better at drawing Ankylosaurus. I tried to draw my 2022 Ankylosaurus twice, but both times it had very little difference to the Ankylosaurus I drew for the JP Wiki last September. Massive improvement; the skull isn’t a circle (it’s a rectangle :D) and it has spikes. This was also based off the version in the Jurassic Films, so was spikier than its real-life counterpart.
2025
There is very few differences here, except the skull is no longer a geometric shape, the feet are less elephant-like and the spikes are less spiky.
Brachiosaurus
2018
Like the previous dinosaurs, the body of the 2018 Brachiosaurus is drawn in separate pieces. The neck was always difficult to draw. Sometimes it was too thin, other ones it was too thick. Sometimes it was too long, other ones it was weird shape. The colour was a generic beige green, likely inspired by the green colours of JP///‘s Brachiosaurus. The front limbs are also the same size as the hind limbs.
2022
I’ve always struggled with Brachiosaurus’ skull, so this is actually far better than most of my 2022 depictions. You get the idea, however. It is based off the Jurassic World ‘Brachiosaurus’, which in turn is based off Giraffatitan.
2025
This is probably one of my favourite drawings of the past year. I’ve made the neck thicker and less S-shaped, edited the feet to be less elephant-like and added some speculative spikes going down the Brachiosaur’s back.
So, what do you guys think? What is your favourite species in Part I? Let me know down below what you think, or if you would like a notification for Part II!

I was gonna wait until I had the other two raptors finished, but screw it. Also, the Male JP3 raptor was already made, but I forgot to add the quills, so...
Variant 1:
Variant 2:
The second variant was made a lil' while ago, and yes, is modeled after the Fred Wierum Spino.

Hello I must know who would win JP3 Spinosaurus or ARK giga because I am the biggest JP3 fan in this cluster of galaxys
Because not that many people realize what the spinosaurus actually did well here's a run down
.It killed many people
.it mostly brushed off a airplane crash
.killed a T Rex
.Almost killed another T Rex
.Easily destroyed a giant fence
And like 10 other things

Jurassic Park sequel takes place 30 years after Jurassic Park lll. A new company, BioX, leads a fleet of carriers to Isla Sorna and Nublar to hunt and steal dinosaurs off the islands. Head of this operation, "Operation: Clean Sweep", was Bradley Thymes. He was out for fame and glory. Thymes first establishes his secret base of operations, on Isla Muerta, 46 miles northwest of the coast of Isla Sorna. Head of the team capturing dinosaurs on Isla Sorna is Fritz Morrison, a Marine veteran, and his best pal, Jeremy Peterson.
As soon as they came to the coast, two massive Pteranodon swooped down and grabbed one of Fritz's men, and began to fly off, before Jeremy fired a tranq into the Pterosaur's neck, causing it to crash into the sand. Fritz quickly ordered 5 men to pull out a carrier to grab the pterosaurs (Jeremy tranqed the other), and load them up into separate trucks, with restraints to hold them down.
As Fritz's team condensed into the jungle, a massive Tyrannosaur knocked a tree down with its massive skull, crushing a man under the fallen trunk. "It's a buck! Fire on me!" Fritz yelled before gesturing to fire. In a split second, 5 tranq darts flew into the Buck's neck, and after a few minutes, the buck crashed down, sedated.
Quickly after, Fritz followed tracks, that led to a nest, with 5 eggs, and 2 had already hatched. Then, a loud roar erupted from afar. "It's the buck?" One of Fritz's men asked. "No, its faster, sounds more protective- DUCK!" Fritz yelled as he dodged under a log, only to witness a doe Tyrannosaur crush a man under her foot, and bite and kill another. Once Fritz calls in for backup, the crew finally gets the doe sedated, and gets ready to transport it, until another Tyrannosaur appears. This one's much smaller and seems still quite young.
And a snarl that reminded Fritz of a crocodile, only, much larger, emerged from the brush, revealing a massive Spinosaurus. This is way bigger than what Alan Grant had said in 2003. This Spinosaurus was 59 feet long. Fritz concluded that it was indeed the same Spinosaurus, merely it had grown. A lot. The Spino immediately grips the neck of the young Tyrannosaur with its jaws, breaking its neck instantly, and throwing it out of the way. "It's gonna take more than 5!" Fritz informed as he analyzed the Spinosaur's skin thickness. "Try 7!" Jeremy yells as he emerges from an empty log hiding in during the doe's assault. Jeremy fires 4 darts, while Fritz grabs a tranq gun off of a dead soldier and fires 3 more. The Spinosaurus, ever so relentless, does not fall to the 7 darts. "Try 9-AHH" A soldier yells before getting whiplashed by the Spino's tail into a tree. Fritz fires 2 more darts, and then the Spino, feeling weak, begins to retreat.
Fritz calls in a chopper unit to spot the giant. Spinosaurus eventually turned around to fight, before it crashed downward. Fritz waved for the chopper to go back to the boat for transport devices. Fritz got to analyze the dormant Spinosaur. Fritz knew the species. Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, but due to tampering of the genetic sequence, This Spino had unusual features and ginormous size. Finally, the chopper returned to airlift the Spino out of the dense jungle and onto the boat.
Suddenly, the brush made loud shakes that echoed through the quiet dispersed atmosphere of the jungle. Fritz recognized immediately what it was. "Jump for the trees!" Fritz yelled as he, Jeremy, and some others dashed up the trees, while the rest were ambushed by 7 quilled Velociraptors. four jeeps cut through the environment right to Fritz's crew's location, and contain every raptor, eventually spraying them with sedative gas, knocking them out, for the truck carriers to take them to the boat. "Works every time." Jeremy complimented himself as he waved a small beacon in his hand toward Fritz.
Jeremy, Fritz, and the rest of the crew hop down from the trees and take the Tyrannosaur eggs, along with finding and taking the hatchlings. Suddenly, a few Compsognathus started running away from the area. While 5 were captured, the others got away.
Fritz wondered why they fled when suddenly, he felt a large glob of saliva fall on his shoulder when one of his men was gobbled up by seemingly the air itself. Suddenly, Jeremy fired a tranq in the area where the guy got eaten, to where a green Carnotaurus emerged from thin air and began chase Jeremy. Suddenly, another Carnotaurus emerged from its camouflage right behind Fritz, who barely dodged it as it lunged for him. "They can camouflage!" Fritz warned, but one of Fritz's officers, William Howells, trembled to take a shot at one of the Carnotaurs, only for the other to snatch him up, leading to the two to tear him apart.

As I mean by Universal Dinosaur Films or UDF's I mean by films about Dinosaurs made by Universal Pictures (i.e. The Land Before Time, Jurassic Park, We're Back!: A Dinosaur's Story, and all of their sequels.).
So, I have finished watching Jurassic World Dominion just yesterday, and it's pretty good but not the best film I have watched, but it is far from the worst. So here are all of my thoughts on the UDF's, the dinosaur films by Universal Pictures had quite a decent start with The Land Before Time, being this dark classic that have traumatized a whole generation of kids due to the death of Littlefoot's mother. Then by 1993 we had Jurassic Park (of which they are planning on remaking the film), actually a very good film and yet another classic, and later in that same year we had We're Back!: A Dinosaur's Story, I mean yes used the same Land Before Time artstyle but still a very good film.
But by 2001 of which I could see as the downfall of the dinosaur films by Universal Pictures, we had Jurassic Park III the 3rd and last installment of the Jurassic franchise for 14 years but if I remember I was introduced to Jurassic Park by this film, I have liked that they have tried to put feathers on their dinosaurs in this film though a bit bad but still. Then a few more Land Before Time films later we had Jurassic World the soft reboot of Jurassic which a new thing hybrids, of which all of the officially licensed mobile Jurassic World games use as their main mechanic (i.e. JWTG and JWA), and also the 14th Land Before Time film had came out and thus that franchise more than likely ended after that film.
Now onto 2018 and 2022 the year of both Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion. Yeah.. they're both mediocre films they're not bad or even good, I mean it is a missed opportunity to not have a Spinosaurus in Dominion, and maybe Dominion could get more love due to it having a Spinosaurus.
Conclusion/Rating: My conclusion on these films always watch the originals and their 2nd and 3rd sequels for TLBT and JP respectively, and do give We're Back!: A Dinosaur's Story a watch if you haven't watched it yet. As for my rating of all of these films I'll have to give them a 6/10 I would rate it higher if it weren't for those Land Before Time sequels that are straight up unnecessary.
But are there any other dinosaur film by Universal Pictures that I have missed? Fell free to comment down below
https://academic.oup.com/zoolinnean/article/198/1/202/7153107 Goofy Ahh new study forget about JP3's Spino TLBT's Rex is way more inaccurate as what this paper says is that T. rex was aquatic more so than Spino who was the posterchild of this
Hey evreyone, this is a series im trying to try out for fun because im a big ERB fan (I have no actual songwriting skills). Let me know what you think and other potential paleomedia rap battles. Also let me know who you think won and who your favorite diss is (also be aware of some of the language)
Epic rap battles of prehistory
Alan grant
vs
nigel marven
Verse 1:
Alan: Imagine you're in the cretaceous and you encounter this jerk, he doesn’t look very scary, much more like a six foot turkey. Let's be honest there's only one dino-expert who’s gonna win, Wanna know if I burn bad? Ask biosyn!
Don’t take Alan for granted, Cause crichton’s genius adapted. Beats any therizinosaurus shit this idiot’s blasted. My grand return made over a billion. The only thing you ever got choked up is an amphibian.
This paleontologist's rhymes are hotter than mount sibo, This moron decides to swim in the most dangerous ocean, Why though? At the end of every appearance you literally die so, Your messages of animal safety are more hollow than a pyroraptor’s thigh bone.
Looks like this zoologist out of time, Now all he’s left with is a fallen kingdom and a forgotten bloodline.
Verse 2:
Chased by sea monsters narrator: Nigel marven has encountered many dinosaurs in his time, But none this old. And this stupid.
Nigel: I'm Nigel marven time traveling zoologist, Although with all the trauma on sorna, you probably want a psychologist. Now I'm a vegetarian so I don't want beef, But there are two times your franchise failed the assignment “Two types of teeth” And I have to say you’ve got a shit park. Why does everything go wrong when the weather gets dark?
The quality of my specials have always remained equals, Whilst no on agrees on anything 'bout your sequels. Mate, after the first movie sattler left you to die alone, with nothing to do ‘cept touch your own bone.
Verse 3:
Alan: You can say what you like about my sequels, that's true, But at least they exist, unlike prehistoric park season 2! I saved the world from famine, This should be easy. faced a giganotosaurus and no it didn’t eat me. But I do feel bad you must have had it rough as an adolescent, Naming two feuding tyrannosaurs after your parents.
Now JP isn’t the best designed no doubt, But didn’t your dinosaurs also break out? Here's a trip try and electrify that fence, learn from my man Hammond and…..
Hammond: Spare no expense.
Verse 4:
Nigel: Like a vengeful rex I get the final scores then only one of us will be walking with dinosaurs. Saw that printed resonating chamber you used for raptor speech. Mate, I just need any shell on the beach.
Go throw a tantrum, as you're cucked by malcolm. Your face is way more ugly than your baryonyx, im jumping through portals as your failing to outrun an animatronic.
After your third movie all you're left with was shame, A talking dinosaur’s the only reason people remember your name. But don't worry about these blows you’ll forget ‘em and move on with life, Just like you in your novels….with your dead wife!
