Umm since no one was suggesting I did this
Oh, and also I got a bit lazy
Double page feature. Decide: is it accurate, outdated, or just dead wrong?
First the ambients
Effigia
Description: Effigia and its relatives could be described as the ornithomimids of the Triassic. They rely on speed to protect themselves. They're omnivorous and will feed on plants and small animals, like insects or young of the larger Animals.
Danger: None
As for senses I will only give them to the ambients that could be potential threats.
Too lazy to put the sizes of them all here.
Shuvosaurus was Going to be here, but it's too similar to Effigia.
Interactions: Will run away if predators get too close, can fall prey to said predators
Hesperosuchus
Description: This small, fast and agile predator spends most of it's time on 4 legs, but when running it does so on 2. It feeds on things such as eggs, young of other animals, small animals and eggs. They compete a lot with Coelophysis as they both fullfill the small agile predator niche and have similar diets.
Danger: None
Interactions: Competes a lot with Coelophysis and others of its kind, will run away from other threats
Revueltosaurus
Description: While it may look somewhat threatening, this small crocodillian is a docile herbivore that feasts on low laying plants. They are very curious and quite playfull, they might not instantly try to get away if you run into them.
Danger: None
Interactions: Will play with others of its kind, will sniff you or bite your shoe if it's not scared, will run away from large predators like Postosuchus and co.
Caelestiventus
Description: From the not too far off Nugget Sandstone, these desert dwelling pterosaurs can be sighted here as well, they're very shy and will take to the skies to escape even from animals that wouldn't really eat them, while here, they're most common in the desert on the south, you can still see them more up North.
Danger: None
Interactions: Will flee if anything gets too close, can actually be cought by the fast Hesperosuchus and Coelophysis.
Now we go under the water
Chinlea
Description: This large, meter long fish inhabits the river of the Chinle Formation. It feeds mostly on smaller on smaller fish and any carcasses that might end up falling in water. It is also the main foodsource of Vancleavea.
Danger: None
Interactions: Can get eaten by Smilosuchus and Vancleavea, might also get fished by Coelophysis and Gojirasaurus, will ignore you
Vancleavea
Description: This river monster is very Diverse in size, the small ones can barely exceed 1.5 meters but the large ones grow up to 4. The small one's aren't a threat, but the big ones are, even though they mostly feed on fish, they won't say no to some Animals or Hunters trying to cross the river, or take a drink. This animal is covered in armor, aim for the head if you're in a pinch.
Danger: None (small individuals, bigger ones too, but only when on land) High (large individuals when in water
Kill Animations: You get baptised lmao
Interactions: Can baptise small land Animals crossing the river or drinking, hunts Chinlea, can become Smilosuchus or Postosuchus food
Smilosuchus
Description: Don't let its looks fool you! Smilosuchus is not a crocodillian! In fact the Postosuchus is much closer to crocodiles. Smilosuchus is instead a Phytosaur, a diffirent type of reptile. Unlike Vancleavea, which mostly sticks to the rivers, individuals of this species can also be sighted near the lakes and are also a threat on land.
Danger: Low (on land, can be easily outrunned), High (in water)
Kill animations: Same for all kinds of deaths, the front, the back, in the water, you just get crushed between its jaws.
Now things we'll use to blow holes in some prehistoric reptiles.
First the hunting weapon
The Hunting Pistol
Description: The first weapon we'll allow you to use on your hunting trip is the hunting pistol. It has a firepower that's actually comparable to that of rifles, but when it comes to accuracy, not that much honestly, but you can upgrade the weapon to make it more accurate.
Uprades:
- Better iron sight
- Bipod (reduces weapon sway when laying down)
- More firepower, also allows your shots to pierce through armor
And the self defence weapon
The Revolver
Description: The Revolver is pretty handy at close range combat, it's pretty powerfull and can fire 6 shots before you have to reload, while it will take couple of shots to take big game out, you can actually use it to hunt the smaller animals, to save ammo for your hunting weapon.
Self defence weapons have no upgrades.
It was a 2m carnivore that lived in the triassic 208-201 million years ago
