Author's Note Stuff: At the end of the episode
-----(Japan, 2024. 5 years after the events of Season 2)----
The air was nice and crisp on a nice winter day in Sanjo City, Japan. A slight breeze picked up and made something fall from a tree. It looked like an egg, but when it fell and broke, two cards and a stone were inside. On one of the cards was a picture of a dinosaur. It had a narrow snout and was holding up its large, clawed hands as if swiping something. What was strange about it however, was the fact the colored sections on the top and bottom of the card were black. The other card was similar, having a photo of the whole dinosaur, seemingly disappearing in darkness while slashing a Triceratops. The stone was strange too, having a symbol unlike others that came before. Instead, it seemed to have black wings that were outstretched. It looked almost like a shadow. A larger breeze took form, though it didn’t move the cracked capsule, instead moving another capsule in the tree and taking it somewhere else.

—-(Back to Sanjo City)-----
Amy said her goodbyes and started walking back home as school ended. She really enjoyed hanging out with Max and Zoe, glad that over the years they became better friends. Every once in a while, she wondered what happened to Rex, but not often though. Humming to herself quietly, she noticed a lizard on a rock by a tree. She stopped, turning to look at the lizard better. It stuck its tongue out before moving around the tree. Amy went and followed before gasping slightly as she saw the stone and the cards. Kneeling down, she grabs the items and looks at the first card, noticing that it looks like that animal that fought Hannah II.
She turned the card over and noticed a symbol on the back that was the same one as the one on the stone. She looked at the stone and the card and moved them closer together, but stopped, deciding against it in public. Putting all three items in her bag, she continued on her way home.
-----(The Taylor Residence)-----
Spike Taylor walked in his yard, thinking about something to do. He didn’t have any real discoveries to talk about with Dr. Owen, Max wasn’t home yet, and Aki was at the store. He was a bit hungry, so he went inside, grabbed some uncooked rice, and started a fire. As the rice was cooking, he noticed a white rock in the corner of the yard. Standing up, he gasped as he saw what it was. It happened to be an egg capsule. Grinning widely and giggling like a child, Spike grabbed it and lifted it up triumphantly, though he did so too fast via cartoon logic, causing him to fall and the capsule to fall by the fire. It opened up, revealing a stone and two cards, one of which landed close to the fire.
“Ow…” started Spike as he got up, heading to the cards and stone. The dinosaur card had the face of a carcharodontosaurid, however that wasn’t the strange part. One of the color-coded parts was the red of a Fire dinosaur, but the other was a steelish gray. “Huh?” Spike said as he looked at the move card. It was the same gray. Turning his attention to the stone, it seemingly had bars of metal as a symbol.
“This… changes a lot of things,” said Spike as he grabbed his phone and turned to dial Max, who picked up.
“Dad?” Asked Max. “What’s this call for?”
“Get Zoe and head to the D-Lab. Something happened. Now, preferably!”
Spike hung up on the phone and grabbed the capsule and started to head to go to the D-Lab, though not before grabbing the rice.
-----(Amy’s House)----
Amy sat in her room and looked at both the stone and the dinosaur card, both of them placed on her bed. She had been contemplating what exactly to do with them. She could take them to Max and Zoe, but she was deathly curious about this. She sighed and went to grab both. Taking a deep breath, she slashed the dinosaur card next to the stone. The card started to get enveloped in darkness before moving to the floor in the shape of a dinosaur.
It was covered in green feathers, with two large, dark green ones extending from the base of its tail. It had three fingers, each with a claw, as well as large arms relative to its body size. The torso of the dinosaur was red as well, and its legs were brown. The head of the dinosaur was narrow, long, and not that tall, and its jaws were yellow. It sniffed the air and tilted its head curiously at Amy, who was staring at it in shock.
“Hi?”
“Y-you can s-speak? H-how?”
The dinosaur looked at her and then back at the stone. It jumped on the bed, ruffling the blanket and its feathers a bit, before grabbing the stone from Amy’s hand and flipping it over.
“The stones can make us talk, but we can’t really do it unless the center one’s activated,” said the dinosaur, looking at the stone. “Considering you have me, and this stone, you got one of the secondary groups of three. I’m from the Shade stone.”
Amy just looked at the dinosaur with some shock, not really expecting such an answer.
“Well,” she started. “That’s something, but can you tell me what you are?”
“Oh, sure! I’m a Maip!”
“M-Maip? Is that a dinosaur or something?”
“Yep. Why do you ask? Wait… what year is it?”
“We just started 2024…”
“Oh. Well, that’s ok then. Pretty sure Maip was still a somewhat obscure dinosaur outside of Paleo-communities then, so that’s fine. It would’ve been a hassle to explain myself if my genus was still unnamed,”
The Maip chuckled to themselves on the bed, looking back at Amy afterwards.
“You know,” Amy started. “You should probably get a name. You remind me of a bird, so can I call you Quetzal?”
The newly named Quetzal hummed and nodded.
-----(D-Lab)----
Max, Reese, and Zoe were in the D-Lab when Spike entered, a bit exhausted and out of breath.
“What’s the rush Dad? What happened?” asked Max.
“You haven’t been this excited in a while Dr. Taylor,” asked Reese.
Spike smirked and brought the capsule, cards, and stone into view.
“I found a dinosaur card of my own! And a stone too!”
Max, Reese, and Zoe all looked at him in shock, each thinking that the dinosaurs were done once and for all when Rex and the Ancients went back to the future. He placed them on the table of the D-Lab, still smiling widely.
“I finally have my own dinosaur now!” Spike said. “This is so amazing!” He reached out to grab the card, and he grabbed the stone too, slashing the card on it. It glowed bright red on top and a metallic gray before turning into a full-sized dinosaur.
It was a large theropod, around the size of Terry, though it had a longer snout with a downturned chin. Its skin was metallic gray, though it had lava-orange stripes going vertically down its body and down its spine. It turned to look at Spike before roaring loudly.
“Dad! Turn it back!”
The theropod lowered its head to sniff Spike as the human tinkered with the stone, turning it back into a card. Swiping it again, the theropod came out as a Chibi form.
“That was intense,” said Spike with the rest of the group nodding.
“It really wasn’t,” said a voice from nowhere.
“Who said that?” asked Zoe as the theropod jumped onto Spike’s back with a smug look on its face.
“I did!” The theropod exclaimed before jumping off. “Name’s… actually, I don’t really know, but whatever. Who are you guys?”
“Y-you can talk!” They all exclaimed at once.
“We haven’t heard a dinosaur speak since we first got our Dino Holders!” said Max, who was similarly giddy like Spike from earlier. “How can you talk? This is only the second time we’ve seen this!”
“Ehh, well,” the theropod started. “The center stone’s probably turned on, though not sure which, considering my dual elements.”
Spike looked confused at the theropod. “Dual Elements?” he said as the theropod turned to him.
“Yeah. I’m a Fire and a Metal. I-Is that not normal?”
“We’ve only seen dinosaurs with one element,” said Zoe. “This is entirely new territory. But what dinosaur even are you?”
The theropod was about to start, but Spike beat him to it first. “He’s a Giganotosaurus! You could tell by that downturned chin, large size, and the fact he’s a carcharodontosaurid!”
“Not bad, not bad,” started the theropod. “But which species?”
“Giganotosaurus carolinii, the only discovered species currently. Can reach around forty feet in length and ten tonnes in weight”.
“Well,” said the Giganotosaurus, now taken aback. “You know your stuff”.
Spike smiles in response. “We still need a name for you though,” started Max, before turning to his father. “You want to name him, Dad?”
“I would love to! Well, let’s see… he should have a fiery name and one that shows his power or size. I could always use Gigabyte, but that’s too overused,” Spike rubs his chin thoughtfully while humming. “Well, G. carolinii sounds like Carolina, which brings me to the spicy carolina reaper, which tastes like fire, so he should be named Reaper!” Spike finishes with a flourish and points at the now-named Reaper, who jumps up happily in response.
—--(Secret Base, Secret Area, Coordinates Redacted)-----
Galapagos stared at a computer screen for a while. The cards had gone missing a few months ago, and this computer would go and show where they activated from. He mimicked a sigh and turned back to the screen, looking at it intently. Suddenly, a dot appeared in Sanjo City, Japan. Reeling back in shock, Galapagos nearly fell over before seeing the dot disappear. Someone had gotten their hands on a card.
Getting up, he stretched his wings and flew to his owner, lab partner, and friend. “Hey!” he called. “Sauros! We just had a dinosaur appear! This is really happening!” The human gasped and turned to look at the parrot, who just landed on his shoulder.
“Really? Where?”
“It was in Sanjo City for a few seconds, then it disappeared. Someone got to it.”
“That… sucks, but at least we know they’re still ok.”
Petting the parrot, he headed back to the computer and noticed something. A new dot appeared, and it wasn’t disappearing. He only smirked in response.
—--(Ocean around Japan)-----
The capsule that was blown away from the tree had somehow found itself in the ocean. Floating away, it bumped into a rock, opening up and revealing two cards, each having a dark blue and a yellow as their colors. Both started to glow, with it having a dark blue top and a yellow underbelly before morphing into a dinosaur.
It was a theropod, with a dark, grayish cyan body. Its tail was long and had a paddle tail, and its legs were quite long. It had a long and thin snout with yellow stripes going down it. It swam up to the surface and roared before heading closer to the shore. It was an Irritator challengeri.
—-(D-Lab)----
As Reese finished up making a Dinoholder for Spike, the screen in the D-Lab started blinking as well, causing everyone to gasp. “A new dinosaur? How?” said Max. “Would we be able to take it down? Dad’s never used a Dino Holder before!”
“Hey! I slashed a move card! Back when the Black T. rex attacked. Granted, it was only one time, but still!”
“Well, we need to think of something fa-” Zoe started as something created a shockwave, causing everyone to freeze. The dinosaur hadn’t reached the shore yet, so it could not have been that. Going outside, the four humans stopped and gasped as something appeared in the air. It was a ship similar to the Backlander, though different due to looking as though it had more weapons. Suddenly, a rainbow light came down and when it dissipated, Rex was standing in its place, with the Alpha Gang nearby as well.
“Rex!” Screamed Max and Zoe, rushing to him and hugging him, which he accepted, though he nearly fell over.
“H-Hi guys. It’s good to see you all once again,” he said, enjoying the reunion. Zoe broke off first and turned to the Alpha Trio.
“Heya Zander, Ed, and Old Lady!” she said teasingly.
Ursula growled slightly before sighing, just being happy that the Alpha Gang’s old frenemies are still around.
“So Rex,” Max started, breaking from the hug. “Why are you back?”
“Well,” the blond boy said in response. “We discovered that, somehow, there were more dinosaur cards, and we have to get them.”
“Yeah, sounds about right,” said Reaper, exiting from the D-Lab as he was wondering where everyone went. That happened to get the attention of the Alpha Gang and Rex. “There’s another one, and according to the map thing, it’s heading to here.”
“Y-you guys have another dinosaur? A-and it can talk?” Rex asked, highly surprised. “H-how?”
“I just found his card,” said Spike, joining the conversation. “As well as the stone. Reaper’s unique though, as he’s somehow both a Fire dinosaur and a Metal dinosaur as well.”
That just confused Rex and the Alpha Trio. “A dinosaur with two elements? How’s that possible?” started Rex. “Metal isn’t even something we’ve discovered though. But how does Reaper talk anyway?” He turned to the chibi theropod.
“Oh, I was one of a three element group, pretty sure at least. You just need to activate the center stone. It should be able to work on all of the others.”
“I’ll just take your word for it.” said Rex. “Well,” he said as he turned to the group of four(plus Reaper). “Do you guys want to come up on Backlander 2? Perhaps even meet old friends?” Rex smirks slightly as Zoe and Max start smiling wildly.
A rainbow light beamed down and enveloped all nine of them and before the five from the present knew, they were on the Backlander 2. Rex quickly headed over to a platform and brought out Dino Bracers, handing them to both Zoe and Max, before also handing them the cards of Paris and Chomp respectively.
“Go on,” he urged. “Swipe!”
“How though?” asked Max. “The original stones were destroyed!”
“True, but my parents managed to make copies that are identical to the original stones,” explained Rex. “They’re now able to summon your dinosaurs in their Chibi forms.” Just as Max is about to swipe, Zoe pipes up.
“Hey,” Zoe starts. “Shouldn’t we go and try to ‘activate’ the center stone first to see if we can talk to them?”
“Good idea Zoe! I’ll grab it real quick!”
As Rex ran off to grab the stone, Ursula handed out Alpha Scanners to Zander and Ed. “It’ll be nice to finally speak with our dinosaurs if this works!” Ursula said as Zander and Ed nod. Rex arrived back with the center stone, but before he could tinker with it, Reaper snatched it from him and tinkered with it himself, which just involved stepping on the blue, red, and yellow parts at the same time. “Try now!” Reaper says as Max, Zoe, Ursula, Zander, Ed, and Rex slash their cards.
Chomp, Paris, Terry, Spiny, Tank, and Rex all come out and look around.
“Huh, why are we ou-” starts one telepathically before stopping and jumping into Max’s arms, revealing it to be Chomp. “W-wha? Zoe!” Paris yells in excitement as she does the same.
“I missed you so much!” said Max as Chomp licked his face, giggling as the ceratopsian did so. “Guess what? We can talk to each other now!” Chomp freezes, confused as the other Chibis, minus Reaper, do the same.
“What?” asked Spiny. “Y-You can understand us now? The translator works? How?”
“Simple,” said Reaper, heading into view of the other Chibis. “I just activated the center stone. But now we gotta get ready! There’s a dinosaur down below!”
The other Chibis look to their owners, determined, and they get recalled back into their cards, and everyone is ready to go down, except Max, who stops beforehand.
“We should get an extra dinosaur, just in case this goes wrong,” he said. “I can go grab the Styracosaurus or something.”
“Do you really think we won’t be able to take down a single dinosaur? It’d be a seven VS one battle!” Ursula said in response.
“Something tells me that the new dinosaurs will be stronger than before, especially with Reaper being a living example of a new element and a Dual Element dinosaur.”
“I can grab the Styracosaurus for you Max,” Rex said before running off. He came back not too long later, handing the Styracosaurus card to Max. They were then beamed down to Earth and now had to search for the dinosaur.
—-(Amy’s House)-----
Quetzal just sits on Amy’s bed enjoying her blanket. After the whole reveal that Quetzal was a dinosaur, Amy suggested to go tell her parents, which Quetzal did, explaining her existence. Thankfully, Amy’s parents just laughed it off and joked about her wanting a bit more than a lizard. Back to Quetzal on Amy’s bed, she suddenly straightens up and turns to Amy, who was looking at Hannah III.
“Amy,” said Quetzal, directing the human’s attention. “I think something’s going to happen soon, and I need you to take the stone and the other card.”
“Why? What’s happening? Is it anything bad?” she said in response.
“Perhaps. I think it’s just going to be a battle, if my senses are correct that is. There may be someone who needs help, and we should be the ones to help them!”
Amy contemplates that for a second before getting up, grabbing the stone and the move card, and heading out of her room, gesturing for Quetzal to follow.
—--(Sanjo City)----
The Irritator continues exploring this somewhat strange area it has found itself in, noticing a big lack of fish and water, which saddens it. The weird bipedal mammals may serve as food later, but right now it isn’t hungry.
The D-Team and the Alpha Gang arrive around the spot where the Irritator is and look at it.
“It’s an Irritator!” exclaims Max.
“Hey! I’m on your side!” said Ursula in response, though it was mainly unheard by the others.
“Are you guys ready?” Max said as he turned to the rest of the group, everyone nodding with determined expressions.
“DINO/ALPHA SLASH!”
Chomp appears in his Chibi form in a dimension of Lightning, with it going across his legs and forming them, before going to his head and creating his battle horns and frill. He rears up in his battle form, roaring.
Ace appears in his Chibi form in a dimension of Wind, with it forming his legs before going across his back, creating his spikes. It flashes in his eyes as he roars in his battle form.
Paris appears in her Chibi form in a dimension of Grass, with it forming her legs before going to her head and creating her crest. She rears up on her hind legs and bellows in her battle form.
Terry appears in his Chibi form in a dimension of Fire, with it forming his legs before opening his jaws and creating his battle teeth. He roars in his battle form.
Spiny appears in his Chibi form in a dimension of Water, with it forming his legs before his sail. His eyes flash with water as he turns into his battle form and roars.
Tank appears in her Chibi form in a dimension of Earth, with it forming her legs before going down her back, creating her spikes and tail. She rears up in her battle form, roaring.
Reaper appears in his Chibi form in both a dimension of Fire and Metal. His legs are formed by fire before solidifying into metal. The fire forges his jaws before crushing down with metal teeth. One eye burns with fire and one flashes with metal. He then strikes a pose and roars.
The Irritator stares at its seven opponents and growls slightly. Chomp roars before charging, with Paris and Tank doing the same. The Irritator just watches and waits for Chomp to get close before jumping into the air and biting down on Chomp’s horn, doing a flip, and then throwing Chomp at Terry, which knocks both down. Paris and Tank stop charging and turn as the Irritator snorts. It then charges at them, but is knocked down by Spiny slamming into it, and before it can get up, Reaper grabs it by the tail and slams it into the floor. The Irritator roars in pain and jumps out of the way to avoid any combos before tail smacking Ace.
“Dang it!” Reaper yells. “This guy’s tough!”
“Tell me about it,” says Chomp, getting up. “This bastard just flexed on us!” He growls along with Terry.
Rex grabs a card from his Dino Gadget and slashes it. “Ninja Attack!” Ace rapidly starts running and copies are soon made, which all jump into the air, aiming at the Irritator, who just stands there. As they come down, the Irritator jumps out of the way before jumping again, this time towards the illusions, and tail smacking Ace once more, lodging him in the floor for a minute. “No! Ace” Rex exclaims as Chomp roars, charging at the Irritator.
The Irritator just stands there, though its tail starts glowing yellow before sparking with electricity which forms a trident. Chomp tries to stop, but the Irritator stabs the trident into Chomp, impaling him(though not fatally), and throws him at Spiny as the trident dissipates.
The Irritator turns to Paris, who charges at it, but the Irritator dodges, grabbing Paris by the neck and throwing her at Tank, who slams into Terry as well.
“This isn’t good! How is it that strong?” Zander exclaims worriedly. Spike tries to think of something and then remembers that he has a move card. He grabs it and slashes it. Reaper roars at the Irritator, grabbing its attention before slamming his foot into the ground, causing massive spikes of steel to emerge from the earth and stab the Irritator, who roars and turns into a card. Max quickly runs to the card and retrieves it.
“Well, that’s nice work,” someone says as the D-Team, Alpha Gang, and the dinosaurs tense up. “That Irritator was a strong dinosaur. I would know as such, as it was mine.”
A figure walked into the area, holding nothing but a device reminiscent of a Dino Holder and a card. “Can I have him please? I won’t have to fight if you just hand him peacefully.”
“Who are you?” asked Max. “You won’t get it if you hurt it!”
“Sauros. Can I just have the Irritator back?”
“Nah, not really,” said Rex. “Not if you can prove that we can trust you!”
Sauros sighed in response. “Welp, so much for the peaceful method,” he said as he brings up a Secret card. “EVO SLASH! FREEZE THEM WITH FEAR, ANTARCTOPELTA!”
A Chibi Antarctopelta appears in a dimension of Light and Ice. The light forms his legs before the ice freezes it over. The light goes down his body to form a tail, which the ice makes solid. Its eyes flash with icy light as it lifts its tail up and bellows.
“Name’s Arctic,” the Antarctopelta says. “Give it back, or there’ll be consequences.”
“Ha! Nope!” said Terry, growling at the ankylosaur.
Chomp charges at Arctic, who just waits for the ceratopsian to go closer. Chomp just about reaches him before Arctic slashes his tail, parrying the attack and knocking Chomp to the floor.”
“Volcano Burst!” exclaimed Ursula as she slashes a move card. Terry creates fire in his mouth and, after an infinity motion, launches it. “Blizzard Barrier,” said Sauros in response. A wall of ice forms around Arctic, absorbing the fire as if it was nothing. Arctic charges at Terry, jumping in the air and slashing at his chest, knocking the theropod over.
Spiny tries to grab Arctic during his midair maneuver, but the Antarctopelta instantly changes direction, slamming his tail into the Spinosaur’s head. He then turns to Tank and charges, but Ed slashes Earth Barrier, blocking the attack. Arctic backs up and shakes off the recoil. “Sub Zero Sword,” states Sauros as Arctic’s tail starts to form ice around it, creating a greatsword. Lifting up his tail, Arctic slams it into Earth Barrier, breaking it, and instantly smacking Tank, turning her back into a card.
“No, Tank!” Ed says as Zoe grabs a card and slashes it. “Metal Wing!” she exclaims as three Pteranodon appear above Paris and dive at Arctic. “Go! Get him, please!” Paris bellows as the trio of pterosaurs go down, each being picked off by Arctic slashing at them, who uses enough momentum to get in the air and slash Paris in the face, turning her back into a card.
Reaper roars and charges at Arctic, who tanks a charge before pushing the Giganotosaurus back and to the ground. Ace jumps up from behind, but Arctic flips and slams both theropods into each other, turning them into cards.
“This is really bad!” exclaimed Max. “We need to use Dinotector armor!” Ursula, Zander, and Max, the three with remaining dinosaurs, activate Dinotector. Noticing this, Arctic charges at Spiny, doing a leg sweep with his tail, before comboing into an upwards slash, turning the theropod into a card before he was able to get his armor on.
Chomp and Terry successfully get their armor on and charge, but Arctic dodges gracefully and turns back to them, snorting.
“We need to do a combo move!” Max said as he turned to Ursula.
“Ultimate Thunder and Ultimate Fire might be the only way to defeat this guy!” she responds, as they both slash their cards.
Terry and Chomp both cover themselves in their respective elements as they charge. Arctic doesn’t even move as they reach him, but he is pushed back as they do. Eventually, the combo attack finished, but Arctic still stands there whilst Terry and Chomp both look as if they can keel over.
“This is horrible!” Zoe exclaims as she looks at the rest of the D-Team, though she notices Max reach into his pocket before slashing a card.
“DINO SLASH! STRIKE LIKE LIGHTNING, STYRACOSAURUS!”
Much like Chomp, the Styracosaurus appears in a Chibi form in a dimension of Lightning. Its legs are formed by electricity as its horns are as well. It roars before appearing next to Chomp and Terry, looking at the former happily.
Arctic just laughs as he activates Sub Zero Sword once more, slashing at all three of them before they can do anything, and making it so that a strong wind would turn them back into cards.
“Is that the best you can do?” Sauros laughs at them. “I’ll be taking that Irritator back soon, though I’m ok with just him".
—--(A bit behind that area)-----
Quetzal walks with Amy to the sounds of fighting and seeing it. Arctic stands before the three dinosaurs, with none of the humans noticing Amy and her companion. Quetzal gasps softly before stopping and turning to her.
“Tilt that dial on the stone. Turn me back into a card and then slash that card, and then do the other card afterwards, ok?”
Amy nods, doing the action with the stone, turning Quetzal back into a card.
“DINO SLASH! DESCEND LIKE SHADOWS, MAIP!”
In a dimension of Darkness, Quetzal’s Chibi form appears. Her legs form from shadows and her arms come from the shade, with the claws almost being invisible in the dark. Her eyes flash with a sudden light in the darkness. She then strikes a pose and roars.
In the real world, Quetzal, now in her battle form to Amy’s shock, turns to her. “Slash that other card now! It’ll defeat Ar-the Antarctopelta!” Amy nods and slashes the card as Quetzal turns back to the fight.
She growls and runs towards the battle, suddenly being enveloped in darkness and disappearing. Arctic continues staring at the three dinosaurs he was fighting, getting ready to deal the finishing blow, but he can’t. From the shadows, Quetzal appears, partially tangible, and opens up her arms wide, bringing them down in a cross slash and appearing on the other side of Arctic. Her move card, Shadow Strike, took care of Arctic. The Antarctopelta bellowed before turning into a card.
Sauros ran towards Arctic’s card, grabbed it quickly and looked at Quetzal, giving a slight nod before backing up. Quetzal responded in a barely noticeable nod in exchange.
“Well,” Sauros started. “That’s my cue to leave. I’ll be back though, and I won’t let you guys yoink a card. Toodle Loo!” Sauros stuck his tongue out at the group before running away.
“Man, that sure was weird,” said Spike. “Anyway, what do we do about the Maip here?”
Quetzal turned to something or someone that the group couldn’t see and seemingly signaled something before turning back into a card. Coming from that direction and smiling nervously was Amy.
“H-Hi guys!” Amy said, a bit worried about possible shenanigans.
“W-wait, Amy?” asked Zoe. “You’re the one who summoned that Maip?”
“Y-yeah,” responded Amy, slashing the card slowly so Quetzal could release as a Chibi once again. “Quetzal told me to help out. A-and is that Rex?” Amy pointed her finger at the mentioned member.
“Yeah,” he responded. “It’s nice to see you again.”
“I-it really is,” she said, with a slight flush on her face. “So, what now?” she asked no one in particular.
“Now,” started Spike. “We fill you in on whatever the heck is going on and maybe get you some better Dino gear. To the D-Lab!” He stood, striking a pose as Max sighed from embarrassment.
—--(Secret Base, Secret Area, Coordinates Redacted)-----
Sauros entered his lab, sighing, and walking to the computer screen. From close by, a small purple dinosaur that was bipedal came up to him, walking from a laptop where another creature, around the same size, sat.
“Did ya get that dinosaur?” the purple one asked as she saw Sauros enter.
“No. Arctic got teamed up on. Nine to one. He still did very good though,” he said as he swiped Arctic’s card, releasing him as a Chibi. Arctic instantly went to go and sit next to a bookshelf and curled up. “Stupid teamers,” he said.
Galapagos flew by and landed on Sauros’s shoulder. “P, before you ask, no, you can’t go fight. You’re still the secret trump card.” The purple dinosaur sighed and headed back to the laptop with the other creature, continuing to watch videos about bison. Galapagos turns to Sauros.
“Do you have a plan on how to defeat those guys?” he asked. Sauros smirked in response.
“Yes,” he said. “They’ll never sense it coming.
NEXT TIME ON DINOSAUR KING:
Not sure because I haven’t written Episode 2 yet and I don’t want to have to base it all on lines I stick here
Authors Note:
Ok, so this is the Dinopedia exclusive note section! Wait, Dinopedia exclusive? Yeah, I'm going to try posting this story on Fanfiction.net, though I'll use Dinopedia as an editor of sorts I guess. You guys can tell me what I need to improve on and such, and I can drop sneaky hints and quick peeks and newer episodes.
Anyway, some stuff that'll probably be in the Fanfic one:
This story is heavily inspired by both Dinosaur King: Prehistoric Peril by Stoned Chompski and Dinosaur King Retold by Drew Luczynski. I really recommend their works.
A few things to point out that probably will be asked:
#1: Erm, why the change to modern day instead of the lore-accurate 2010s or wherever? Well, frankly, it's just easier for me to include new yet amazing genera, and also I may need it for a planned episode. And if you guys wonder about the future, eh, just say everything's pushed back by 12 years I guess.
#2: Why are Spike and Amy getting the new stones? Two reasons. 1 is that I really like Amy now, especially due to her in Drew's story, and I want her to have a bit more of a spotlight. 2 is that this whole Dinosaur King fanfiction idea was originally started by Dr. Taylor getting a Giganotosaurus, who was originally called Grumpy.
#3: Why new elements and Dual Elements? Because it's cool
#4: What's with the center stones and activation? Just needed a quick and easy way to get the translator working, and it's kinda funny, ngl.
#5: What are the mysterious things in the intro? None of your business
#6: Why Irritator redesign? Because I want it to be more accurate. And speaking of accuracy, you'll see some shenanigans go on later than sooner.
That is all for this author's notes! I will take CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, and maybe a few species suggestions here and there, but don't count on it. Review, Rate, and Share I guess!
