We entered the silurian period about 433.8-419.2 mya but fasted forward to the uppermost epoch of the silurian: the prídolí epoch.
Here in what's now the UK, a group of cephalaspis are swimming away from brontoscorpios. these giant scorpions are one of the largest known scorpions from 33 cm
To a meter (3.3 feet) or more...
The jaw evolved from repeating pharyngeal segements first present in chordate ancestors as respiratory structures.later giving rise to cartilaginous branchial baskets of jawless fish and the bones and cartilages of the facial, upper & lower jaw,jaw support and posterior gill or throat structures.
This is entelognathus primordialis, 20 cm long .one of the earliest jawed vertabrates.the silurian period saw the first jawed animals to ever lived.it's fossils are found in what's now: quijing, yunnan, china
It's name means: complete jaw
The creature is likely a carnivore feeding on smaller fish to survive. he's seen peacefully swimming in the silurian ocean alongside small fishes and cephalopods
Some 3 different trilobite species called aulacopleura, burmastus, odontopleura are crawling on the sea floor
And again...the trilobites survived extinction.
When a fish swims above them...
Fanjingshania revonata was the oldest acanthodian of the silurian that lived in the lower silurian 439 mya, the creature was named after famous UNESCO world heritage site fangjingshan. it's really a bizzare species about two-and-a-half feet long the oldest jawed ancestor
Qianosus duplicis is also a jawed vertabrate based on disarriculated teeth of the lower silurian.
In other parts of south china.
This predator is ready to ambush it's prey...
But it's not qianodus duplicis or other basal jawed fish.
Psarolepis romeri is another basal bony jawed fish from the uppermost silurian period to the very start of the devonian period which lived around 419-410 mya
The creature chases it's prey. it will dispatch the small vertabrate. psarolepis bites it in the side & killed it anyway...
Back at the UK
We saw an anglaspis heintzi.
It lived from the late silurian to the early devonian era. with other cyanthasidiforms individuals.
A pterygotus was watching her from a distance
Pterygotus are the largest eurypterid but that title now goes to jaekelopterus who reached a length about 2.5 meters and pterygotus was only 1.75 meters in length.
She's burried in the sand waiting for something to attack on...
The anglaspis dosen't know what's comming but what protected her is her body armour. theres little known about analaspis since it's not really a well-known species.
While The silurian is the shortest period of the paleozoic but it also saw the start of terrestrial arthropods, meaning tetrapods came on land
Later...
I have been thinking about holding one of these types of things for a while. Today is the day I actually hold one. So this is the competition that I will be holding. Each member of the community can pick one of their favorite animal from each major time group for a who do you like more tournament. The time groups are Cenozoic(the age of the mammals and the current one going on right now), Mesozoic, and paleozoic(any animal from prior to the Triassic like dimetrodon, Anomalocaris, and things like that). Some restrictions apply so one animal, in particular, doesn't win by a landslide t rex is not allowed to be picked to at least make it fair for other animals to have a chance and once an animal is picked by someone it is not allowed to be picked again. I will be making a bracket for this that will be randomly assigned. Any type can be included meaning aquatic, aerial, and land as long as it went extinct it can be included.
My animals are Brontoscorpio, Rutiodon, and Gigantopithecus
Let me know if you want to get pinged for this spin-off series.
The Tyrants are discussing stuff.
Nizaluddin: So my original Dinopedia account had to be left behind because apparently my password was leaked? That's pretty unepik.
Mimikyutube: I agree.
Concaventor Wrangler: So what projects are we doing or something?
Nizaluddin: I'm in the middle of Glacial Plains, but it feels like all the excitement went away.
Mimikyutube: Don't worry, next episode, we have to look for Kelbeam! There'll be plenty of excitement.
Savage Almond's ghost: Yeah, but where do we even look? Kelbeam disappeared without a trace.
Palaeontologica: We can't just make Kelbeam our top priority! What if we're all looking for him and the Anti-Colosseum guys take over the colosseums and let everyone free?
Mimikyutube: I suppose I can go see the Consultant Indoraptor guy. *calls the consultant* Hello? Hello? Hellooooooo? *hangs up* Now where could he be?
*Titanosaurus80 slowly floats away*
We cut to where we left off, with Consultant Indoraptor confronting Aegyptosaurus for summoning the giant Brontoscorpios.
Consultant Indoraptor: So I took down all of your Brontoscorpios, and I'll take you down too.
Aegyptosaurus: W-wait! I can help you!
Consultant Indoraptor: I'm afraid you're beyond sparing. On your knees.
*Aegyptosaurus drops to his knees*
Consultant Indoraptor: Any last words?
Aegyptosaurus: I did your mom in the chemical factory last night.
*Consultant Indoraptor stares at the sauropod with his eyes wide, and then bursts out laughing. Aegyptosaurus smiles and pulls out his desert eagle, but the consultant notices and slices the sauropod's front leg off with his Brontoscorpio stinger, and then slices off the rest of Aegyptosaurus's legs*
Aegyptosaurus: Wait, this time I mean it! I can help you get back at the Tyrants!
Consultant Indoraptor: I don't hate the Tyrants.
Aegyptosaurus: But you said that one of them yeeted you to the desert!
Consultant Indoraptor: And I want to prove to him and the others that I'm worth keeping around!
Aegyptosaurus: Wait, don't tell me you're gonna kill-
Consultant Indoraptor: Yes! I'll find their most hated enemies and assassinate them, one by one!
Aegyptosaurus: NOOOOOO!!!!!
Beginning of a Legacy
Consultant Indoraptor: Oh, and you're coming with me.
Aegyptosaurus: PFFT! You can't carry me, I'm too big!
Consultant Indoraptor: Fukuiraptor, you're right. Let me check your pockets.
*Consultant Indoraptor finds a mind-control egg timer in one of Aegyptosaurus's pockets*
Consultant Indoraptor: What's this thing?
Aegyptosaurus: I won't say a-
Consultant Indoraptor: I said *pointing his Brontoscorpio stinger at Aegyptosaurus* what's this thing?
Aegyptosaurus: It's what I use to control the Brontoscorpios!
Consultant Indoraptor: I thought the mating call controlled the Brontoscorpios.
Aegyptosaurus: Yeah, but this thing is what kept me from getting attacked by them for my whole life?
Consultant Indoraptor: You've lived in this desert your whole life, huh? Well, tell me where I can find something big enough to carry you!
Aegyptosaurus: Fine...
After a few minutes of Consultant Indoraptor dragging Aegyptosaurus around, they made their way out of the desert, and after some more time, they found one of the largest creatures that still live in Tyrantia: A Fossil Marsh Sheep.
Aegyptosaurus: Wow, I've never been to the east of this planet!
Consultant Indoraptor: Whatever. How do I work this mind-control egg timer?
Aegyptosaurus: *reluctantly* You point the top of it at the creature and press the bottom of it to shoot a generic mind-control beam.
*Consultant Indoraptor tries it and it works*
Fossil Marsh Sheep: *robotic voice* I will do whatever you ask.
Consultant Indoraptor: Can you carry this sauropod on your back and follow me?
*the sheep obliges and somehow puts Aegyptosaurus on its back*
Consultant Indoraptor: Good. Now, I just need to find something or someone that has information on the Tyrant's enemies.
???: I can help you with that.
*??? is revealed to be Stenonychosaurus*
Consultant Indoraptor: Who are you?
Stenonychosaurus: Just a guy trying to help people out. And who are you?
Consultant Indoraptor: Just a guy trying to assassinate enemies of the Tyrants.
Stenonychosaurus: The Tyrants, huh? Well, there' plenty of anti-Tyrant people out there, like a tribe of ceratopsians that escaped their colosseum together. In this very marsh, there's a team of mercenaries that hunt down Tyrant sympathizers.
Aegyptosaurus: Oh my god...
Consultant Indoraptor: Can you point me to them?
*Stenonychosaurus obliges and the consultant heads the way he was pointed towards. After a while, he, Aegyptosaurus and the sheep come across the mercenaries, who are revealed to be Deinosuchuses*
Deinosuchus riograndensis: HALT! Who are you?
Consultant Indoraptor: *signals the sheep to run away* I don't have time to talk, I have a mission.
Deinosuchus hatcheri: What mission?
Consultant Indoraptor: A mission against YOU! *pulls out the Brontoscorpio stinger and claw*
The fight was on! Deinosuchus rugosus and Deinosuchus schwimmeri ran over to see what was happening, and they prepared to attack. The consultant stabbed riograndensis in the side and choked him to death with the pincer, but got deathrolled by hatcheri. Schwimmeri and rugosus piled on the consultant as well, but they all got knocked off. The consultant got up and instantly ran to hatcheri, but schwimmeri got up and intervened by tail-whipping the hybrid and using his jaws to grab him by the leg. As the consultant got dragged back, he desperately tried to fend off rugosus and hatcheri, who had just gotten up.
Eventually, schwimmeri threw the consultant to the side and stepped on top of him, ready to deliver the killing bite, but got stabbed through the mouth by the consultant using the stinger. The consultant kicked the dead schwimmeri off, but hatcheri and rugosus were ready for him and knocked him back down. While rugosus pinned him down, hatcheri grabbed his stinger and pincer and yeeted them to Neptune. Unfortunately for rugosus, the consultant freed one of his claws and slit his throat, which surprised him long enough for the consultant to rip off the crocodile's entire lower jaw using his mouth. Blood spilled all over the consultant, but he stabbed rugosus to death with his own lower jaw. The consultant then went inside the croc, ripped him in half, and grabbed both halves of his tail. He looked and saw hatcheri running away, but he quickly tied both halved of rugosus's tail together and chased after the mercenary. Eventually, he caught up and strangled hatcheri to death using the dead rugosus.
He then remembered that he had the mind-controlling egg timer and could've used it, but he decided to go back to Stenonychosaurus. When he found the troodontid, he saw Aegyptosaurus and the sheep, too.
Stenonychosaurus: Uhh, buddy? You have a bit of blood on your...everywhere.
Consultant Indoraptor: Yeah, that's not mine.
Aegyptosaurus: Wait, you actually KILLED those mercenaries? They were trying to save Tyrantia, you know!
Consultant Indoraptor: SHUT UP!!! Ignore him, I'll take him to the dead bodies soon. Do you know of anyone else nearby who's an enemy of the Tyrants?
Stenonychosaurus: Well...
