So I brought my second BOTM figure (the Xenoceratops) and I am absolutely seething with it. Ok, so. First thing out of the box, the joints are all fused in place. Read the instructions and I decide to put it in hot water. Two things wrong with that. First of all, the figure is now covered in white patches from losing some of its paint, and second THE FIGURE IS NOW FULL OF WATER. I shake it around and I can hear water sloshing around inside. And finally no matter what I do, the tail won't pop in. I am very disappointed, and I expected more from Creative Beast's second, objectively better release.
BOTM!!!
I also pre-ordered a tarbo, but it hasn't been released yet, can't wait to get it tho 😊
Yeah, uhh, that’s about it. Besides for the fact that WE NEED TO GET TO AT LEAST $285,000 TO GET THE OTHER REWARDS
WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!
After more than a year of searching through the internet to get one (they're very hard to come across where I live), I did it. I got my first Beast of the Mesozoic, the Velociraptor Osmolskae Alpha. I'm very satisfied with him, he didn't have any of the usual stiff joints or other problems commonly reported with the Raptor Series figures. I love the details on the sculpt and the paintwork really helps bring them out. I tried to pose him somewhat similarly to the package art. It was somewhat difficult to figure out the stands and how to get him m to balance, but I'm guessing it's because I haven't really gotten used to this kind of figure style yet. Creative Beast Studio did a great job with him, all in n all he is a 4/5 star figure. Definitely going to get a friend for him in due time. Probably something from the Ceratopsian Series.
The only one I've heard is that the rex's scales are slightly too large, but that isn't really an inaccuracy, being more of a nitpick
I have 6 of them, and I thought it’d be fun to share!
Genus: Torosaurus
Nickname: Bastion
Pros: Very big, chunky, and cool. I really like the patterning on it.
Cons: Way too heavy, like, similar in weight to the Mattel Dreadnoughtus
Genus: Tyrannosaurus
Nickname: Flame
Pros: Best Juvie Rex I’ve ever seen. Nice base. Very good articulation
Cons: Legs are a bit wonky to pose
Genus: Pyroraptor
Nickname: Azula
Pros: Amazing colors, easily fits with the Pyro part.
Cons: Feet are a bit wonky because they rotate a lot
Genus: Dromaeosaurus
Nickname: Chickadee
Pros: Nice colors. Smol
Cons: Not much posability. Smol. I accidentally broke the base
Genus: Yutyrannus
Nickname: Kowalski
Pros: Great colors. Big. I can play Ark with my toys now.
Cons: Doesn’t go on the base. Legs are pretty weird
Genus: Diabloceratops
Nickname: Inferno
Pros: Nice colors. Good articulation. Great use of the name to emphasize the colors.
Cons: Not sure, didn’t play with it a lot yet

So, you read the title, but how do these critera work?
Well, first you dissect the name.
Tyranno - Tyrant, Saurus - lizard, Rex - king.
So with the name translation, we can get to the criteria. The word Tyrant feels imposing and important. The word Lizard shows that it should feel reptilian with the colors. The work King shows it should feel imposing, important, royal, and regal.
So the ideal tyrannosaurus color scheme should feel: Important, Imposing, Regal, Royal, and reptilian(in some nature)
Now, we will get to the rankings in COLOR SCHEME ONLY. I'm NOT ranking accuracy, as then the JP tyrannosaurus would get only a 3 at maximum
JP/JW Tyrannosaurus
This is the original Tyrannosaurus that we all have nostalgia for. However, it fails in one aspect.
1. The color scheme is too dull to make it feel imposing, regal, and royal.
It does exceed in the aspect of making it look reptilian, so I'll still give it a 2/10
Hank
While I do adore Hank in his CHOMNKINESS, Hank still fails in being regal and royal. Hank does succeed in being somewhat reptilian, important, and imposing, therefore, I am giving Hank a 6.9/10. Hank gets this huge boost just from the tan on his underside and neck.
WWD momma
WWD momma is a great balance of all of these categories but doesn't excel at all of them. WWD momma excels at feeling reptilian(somewhat), imposing, important, and regal. Just like Hank, the tan helps a lot, but the red really makes her skyrocket. WWD momma gets a 8/10.
BOTM
BOTM(Beasts of the Mesozoic) is amazing! BOTM excels in all of the categories, feeling important, imposing, royal, and regal. Not to mention reptilian as it's colors were taken straing from a snake! My only complaint is how vibrant it is, which is good in small quantities, but is bad in hige doses. BOTM gets a 9.5/10.
Brumal from Prehistoric Kingdom
This, this is a great blend. Not too dull with the colors, but not too vibrant either. You feel the regal and royal parts of it. With the blue highlights, it feels imposing and important. It also looks like a mix of a few lizard species, so it excels in the reptilian part also. 10/10 Tyrannosaurus.
