You may know me for my hominin reconstructions, wacky comments and scientific posts like when did the syrinx evolve(pls go to that post) and general artwork. But I have never reconstructed a dinosaur before. So over the past couple weeks I have challenged myself to recreate the face of a long lost animal
Observe,a beast lost in the deep trenches of the ocean of time!(I may sound like P.T Barnum by a bit and this might be a little gimmicky but just stay along)
Like all my other reconstructions I do a process where I start from bone to muscle to skin,so here they are
The reason there are two muscle paintings is bc the vertebrae were wrong and I only started fixing it when I started to paint the muscle
When we look at evolution we only look at the steps that could help us understand the bigger picture. And we look at the animals as nothing but that, steps to the end goal. But they were something more than that. They were breathing, living beings who ate,(there's no better way to say it)fucked and lived. they didn't just wait for natural selection to do its course, they had choices. They were born, they went through dino puberty, looked at another individual and got horny, they raised their chicks, they hunted and inevitably, died, Whether it was peaceful or painful. These rocks that we look at and study, putting together in a grand tree of evolution once had a soul. Like me and you. Remember that
