We should do something about this, it's driving me nuts. There are too much scientific classifications. We might probably use the templates Animals (and Plants) at this point.

Again, just because you find something too complicated doesn't mean it's not needed, there are tons of people who need to quickly find the scientific classification for a specific creature and the taxobox is a good way to find that info
OK yeah, the pages for chordates and eukaryotes are unnecessary, I agree
Also what do you want us to do if the taxobox matches Wikipedia? The classification doesn't change depending on what website your viewing
I was thinking that it could look like the Animals template. Just a thought.
I don’t think the pages for chordates and eukaryotes are unnecessary. This is an educational wiki on organisms after all, so why not teach what makes a eukaryote or chordate themselves?
But I do understand if the taxoboxes were removed from both, tho. Not much to put in that template if the page is about a kingdom lol
We shouldn't do anything about the Taxobox, it works fine. And why should we remove Eukaryota and Chordata? Domains and Phyla are some of the fundamental ranks in taxonomy, so they should not be removed.
How about an "Animal" template that acts like the "Taxobox" template? No need to add undocumented parameter. Just a thought too.
While undocumented parameters can be confusing, they allow more freedom when arranging the taxonomic ranks.
Okay, fine.
I agree that the taxobox doesn't need to match Wikipedia. I don't see why we couldn't have a guide with holotype, size, length/height, location, or something of the sort. Might be hard for larger clades, but something. I do think it should stay, though.
What do you think?
