^^^ a forked tongue is speculation and perfectly reasonable. There’s no evidence against it.

^true, but still, i'd like the opinion of basing prehistoric creatures to their modern cousins, but sometimes i add speculative stuff.

Take mosasaurus for example, i like to reconstruct it using snakes and lizards, but prefer to give it a shark's countershading, as it was a underwater hunter that acted like carcharodon carcharias and others.
