I like game of thrones, but I think the dire wolves are stupid

@Shieldon.BAH This "corporate attention grabbing stuff" is being used to help save red wolf populations, the techniques learned here are applicable to saving real world species. Also Colossol has already made clear what they consider a "de-extinct" species:

It was the news articles that over exaggerated the claims.

P.s. Colossol's personal response to the situation:

Essentially making a modern day counterpart to that extinct creature, that can adapt and live in the modern world while still having very similar treats to the og species. That's a win in my book.

It's still not the best way of classifying a "resurrected" extinct animal. I'd rather actually see that red wolf news in the headlines, rather than this misinformation. I know they're actually doing good stuff, like researching a cure for amphibians against fungi, and I'd rather see that be the main course, it seems just as important.

Sorry, I was harsh on game of thrones and George R. R. Martin, he does seem like a nice guy.

^^^^^^ They cloned Galveston island coyotes because they thought they were a population of red wolves. They're not red wolves, they're hybrids with a fair bit of red wolf DNA, but not enough to qualify them as that species. I'm pretty sure there are boatloads of actual red wolf genetic material, so a blunder like this is an awful look.
