The streets of Alexandria, Virginia
February 16th, ~5:00 AM
The raptor shot through the snow banks, leaping over the wire fence of a townhome's front yard and barreling into the side yard. The creature skidded to a halt behind the home and began sniffing the air, methodically scanning the area, searching for its prey. Finally, it locked onto the scent and began the hunt.
Five SWAT team members of the Alexandria Police Department prepared to leave the neighborhood, having searched it for raptors and yielding no results. They stood by their armored police van, guns still in hand. Yet they paid no attention to the rustling leaves of the nearby hedges that lined the fences of the townhomes.
The raptor slunk through the hedges, homing in on the group of cops. Then, without any hesitation, it pounced. The black and white-colored raptor burst out of the bushes, its bloodied claws and teeth on full display as it lept out onto the icy street. The officers, caught off guard, took a few seconds to train their gun sights on the raptor.
A few seconds too slow.
The raptor slashed its claws across the stomach of the closest officer, tearing through her bulletproof vest with ease and eviscerating her. The officer doubled over in pain and collapsed onto the road, blood pooling around her. The raptor had already moved on to its next target. The second officer managed to fire off a few express rounds at the raptor, punching a few holes in its feathered chest, but the raptor barely reacted, though blood was now oozing down its belly. Instead, it continued on its path towards the second officer before leaping onto him and pinning him to the ground. The raptor clamped its jaws around the officer's head and twisted.
The third officer trained his sight on the raptor's head as it mauled his colleague. The officer squeezed the trigger, sending a burst of rounds into the raptor's face. The other two officers did the same, raking the raptor with gunfire. The raptor fell to the ground as the officers continued to pump rounds into it, until finally, it was still.
4 down, 12 to go.
Two of the three surviving SWAT officers all completely emptied their magazines into the raptor's head, while the other officer ran to tend to the one who had been practically disemboweled by the raptor. There was clearly no hope for the officer who's head was now almost completely detached from his body, but maybe, just maybe, they could save this one. But by the time the officer reached his colleague, it was clear she was dead.
Two officers for one raptor, not a fair exchange in the slightest.

Note: Not gonna lie, I'm not enjoying writing these as much as I used to-so probably Part 15 will be the final part of the story. Knowing how busy I am, Part 14 won't be out for a while unless I lock in, and the finale... who knows when it'll be out honestly. Yeah this was just a short episode idk
