Hye, everyone.
I've heard+readed+seen the recent news & I don't know if I'm happy for it or not (it's complicated).
https://svpow.com/2024/12/22/about-that-saurophaganax-paper/
https://journals.library.ualberta.ca/vamp/index.php/VAMP/article/view/29404
But I have a hypothetical+theoratical question (but wish it will eventually come true next year or so).
Since some of the speciments belong to 2 unknown species of sauropods (an camarasaurid & an apatosaurid/diplodocid) & other speciments belong to the new species of Allosaurus (A. anax), if the holotype specimen (the dorsal neural arch) of Saurophaganax maximus gets officially identified as a theropod (either an allosaurid or a primitive carcharodontosaurid) dinosaur (but not a sauropod), will palaeotologists return back to Oklahoma (where the holotype was fond)+find more complete speciments (neotypes), compare it with the holotype & put the genus back valid {either next year (2025) or so forth}!?.
It will be a wonderful discovery (just like with the discovery of Allosaurus anax), right!?👍😉🦖🌌
