There's practically no connection besides the premise. Saying both have someone who likes dinosaurs isn't a good comparison because all paleo media with humans has someone like that.

So Dino Dan is a show about people tracking down and stopping monstrous fictionalized creatures from the future and the past that have traveled through rifts in time to the present day while simultaneously contending with deadly plots that threaten the future of the human race, but for kids.

I guess they're kinda similar because both of them use CGI to make their creatures so I guess so (but only a tiny bit)
