I wouldn't say they necessarily made up troodontids. One of them was explicitly the Alaskan troodontid, though I'm not entirely sure about the other one (might be Stenonychosaurus?)

Yeah that is true, but they can make some creative liberties since fossils are only a fraction of all genera. I'm sure there was a troodontid in a lot of ecosystems and formations and we just never got any specimens.

But yeah an ankylosaur is a bit more of a stretch, especially one with filter feeding
